The Ixora - A Boutique Homestay

The owner of the property Mr. Lal attended us for all the concerns we had and even arranged an auto driver for us to commute within the city. Also he made us bookings for the boating and kayaking at the Shiva Kayaking located around 8 kms away from the property.

Its better to check if all the facilities promised are in good condition prior to the arrival of the guests as we spent a noon sleeping without AC in the scorching heat. Also, an arrangement for food parceling could have been started on payment basis for people returning by train as it also would benefit them.

Peaceful ambience, fantastic host, homely quality food.

Room neat and clean.

Breakfast below average like normal roadside tea shop. We got only Readymade chapati with Gravy and tea. We paid 7500 INR for one night stay which is Equivalent to 4 Star hotel pay. No welcome Drink,no drinking water provided. Stayed with family (2 kids), when we asked for hot water for bath in the morning, they said hot water connected with solar system. In hill station if the hot water source connected with Solar system what is the use? They should not charge more than 2500 INR for this property for one night stay. How booking .com recommending this property with this huge amount in their website? we are believing booking.com only, not with property. Really, we need to think to book the rooms through this website (booking.com) in future. Totally it's not worth for money.

A place of serenity....amazing hospitality, good food, and, I must say one of the best vanilla cakes we had...all this was possible because of Mr. Lal - A man who runs this entire show single-handedly yet welcomes all his guests with a warm big smile. His suggestions are great starting from driver Deepu, who was not only excellent at his job but also a great guide, auto driver Rony who was always available on a call, and mostly the Cafe trip is life which was just awesome...He always makes you feel comfortable and at home with his conversations. Heartfelt thanks for these 4 days at Ixora and for taking care of us.

We had a wonderful stay at Ixora. The rooms were very clean and nicely maintained, it had all the facilities that are required for a Vacation. Not having a TV inside the room was a blessing since we were able to spend a lot of time outside the rooms in the verandah. The bed was comfortable and easily accommodated the 2 of us with a 5 year old kid. The food offered was tasty and home cooked, our daughter enjoyed thoroughly having food in the dining place. Mr Lal our host helped us fully with planning our days in Varkala and was a wonderful person to have around.
