Mihira Guest House

the family run if. the guesthouse were lovely!! the outdoor and indoor area was super cute and the room had everything you needed. breakfast was yummy! Would definitely return

only thing that would have topped it off would have been air con!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mihira Guest House in Denuwala, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly and hospitable family who went out of their way to make me feel at home. The guest house itself is absolutely beautiful - the rooms are clean, and you get a mosquito net. The gardens are well-maintained and offer a tranquil space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding area. The guest house also offers a range of meals, and I highly recommend trying them out. The location of the guest house is also ideal - it's in a quiet area that's away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close enough to easily access all the attractions in the area.

Room and the place is in general OK. Nothing special but OK with the price!

We had very good time at the beginning with the family of the guesthouse. They seemed to us really good people. Unfortunately it happened something we couldn't expect. We left 20000 rupies (more or less 50€) in our bedroom, inside of a bag that we always leave home because we didn't want to go out with that amount of money in Sri Lanka. Money disappeared at our checkout (2 days....). The family start saying "you took the bus, maybe they stole your money" "one of you girls went out yesterdat night till midnight". We were really sad, we looked everywhere. We hope we put the money somewhere else but we are 100% sure about it. There were no excuses because that bag has always stayed inside of the bedroom. I am really sorry while writing this message but I need to aware people.. just to take your precautions and do not leave money in the room!

The location was good. The room was nice for the price - had a fan and a mosquito net. Dinner and breakfast was really good.

A little pushy with trying to get us to eat/drink there, even when we said we had plans out with friends. There was no wifi option available.

Perfect place to spend a few days when on the south cost. Very friendly and welcoming family who really make you feel at home. The place is cosy, very clean and has a beautiful garden. It's in a nice, quiet area, very close to the bus stop, beach and restaurants. The room is spacious with fan and mosquito net. I had breakfast and dinner and both were full of local food as string hoppers, egg hopper, coconut roti, Dahl and a lot of fresh vegetable curries and fruit. They speak English, are very interested in others and do their utmost best to help you with whatever you need. Would love to come back.

Very cozy homestay where a lovely family will take the best care of you! We did landry & breakfast with them which can recommend. The location is nice and quiet, sometimes midigama can get noisy with the parties nearby but here we slept with no issues :) still close and walking distance to the beach and midigama surfspots. A bus stop is 1 minute walk away which takes you easily to ahangama/weligama. There is a fan keeping the room fresh and a net for mosquitos.
