Spark Apartment

Location was great and the ageing Art Nouveau details. Having a kitchen (though not fully equipped). Window to the street. The price was good and the mattresses too.

We are early risers and having people sleeping in the living/dining room meant it was hard to prepare and eat breakfast without disturbing them. The kitchen was ok but only one plug-in cooktop worked and there was only one same tea towel for three days for the many guests.

We stayed there in mid March 2025 for 3 nighs. The location was perfect, almost in the city center, reachable easily by bus 100E from airport. It was clean and quiet, with kitchen necessities for cooking. Also I really liked the different types of drinks available on the table (tea and coffee). Self check-in was really convenient and we entered the house without delay. Overall, it totally worths the money.

The price is quite affordable for the location, which is relatively close to the city center, making it a good option for budget travelers. Also, the host seemed friendly and responsive – she replied quickly to my messages and provided all the necessary information for the check-in.

The check-in process was quite complicated. The host provided a 3-minute video explaining how to access the key box, but the mechanism was faulty and needed fixing, making it unnecessarily difficult to open. Additionally, the listing did not clearly indicate that the apartment was a SHARED accommodation with common areas (kitchen and bathroom). I initially thought I had booked a private apartment, but I ended up sharing the space with other guests. In fact, the two girls who booked the adjacent room were also unaware that it was a shared apartment, so I don't believe this was solely my misunderstanding. Unfortunately, the other occupants were extremely noisy. Both adjacent rooms were occupied by loud groups who stayed up late, making noise and gathering in the common area. The walls were thin, which meant I could hear everything, including some things I'd rather not describe. The bathroom was another downside. It was small and inconvenient, and the shower was only separated by a curtain, which left a rather unappealing impression. Overall, since I was only staying for one night and didn't need much, it wasn't a huge issue. However, I definitely wouldn't choose to stay at Spark Apartment again.

It was a huge apartment in the center of Budapest. There were 3 or 4 rooms, but at the moment we were the only guests. There were also 2 bathrooms. Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed.

The amenities are great for the price. There is an oven, an electric kitchen, a fridge, lockers, and the bathroom was all right. The host also gave us coffee, sugar and tea. For the price, highly commendable.

The "bed in shared bedroom" isn't a bedroom, there are 2 beds in the middle of the living room. The thing is, if anybody leaves early in the morning or arrive at midnight, they are more than probably going to wake you up.
