Private double room near City centre, Coventry

Nothing, it was the worst place I stayed in Coventry.

There was a cob web in my room, there was a boiler in my room making noise at night, as you go into the room from the landing there is a step down to go to the room and no warning in place and I nearly twisted my foot when entering the room. The stairs were so steep that you can't go down safely, one of the steps carpet was sticking out and it caused me to trip and nearly fell down on the stairs. The bathroom had no light at all, I called the landlord and he said that will get maintenance to fix it and it didn't happen.i don't believe that I had to use my phone torch to use the bathroom and have a shower, the bathroom door didn't close properly, the inside knob handle of the bathroom door came off when trying to pull the door. The room didn't have a key so it was open with my things in it when I went out for two days. The only good thing in my stay there was the wifi. It was horrible and the place is not fit to be a bnb.the whole place needs redoing, and I forgot about the kitchen floor was wet and there was no proper plates or cutlery to cook It should be advertised as a bed n breakfeast, it should be advertised as a ....not sure.horrible place I will never ever go back there.i stayed in its next door neighbour and it was good.

The bed linen was clean, and the pillow. The room was clean.

You didn't provide me with any towels at all, nor a washcloth to wash my face, or a towel to dry my hands. There wasn't even coffee or tea, or milk in my room. Nor any in the kitchen at all, or snacks.

Prakesh, the host, set out clear instructions, and the communication was clear. Parking outside the property on the road was free. Access to the property was easy.

The property itself is very tired and the basic aspects are a health hazard. The stairs are an accident waiting to happen with the 5th step having poorly fitted carpet. On a steep staircase with very narrow steps, having carpet not fixed at the 5th step caused me to fall backwards down 5 steps injurying my back. The room was very basic. The base of the bed is two single beds joined together, which resulted in the wooden frame digging in your back, sides all night. The bedding was not clean. The duvet was disgusting. The smelt of old sweat. I didn't use the dining room, kitchen now lounge. Access the bathroom is through the kitchen at the back of the property. The bathroom is a health risk itself. See the photographs for yourself. No towels. No toilet paper. I purchased a sleeping bag the night of, slept there, left first thing in the morning, and only used the toilet once. Many other reviews also comment on the above factors. We can't all be wrong. I have infirmed Prakesh of this, and their response was that the other guest would be reported, and the cleaner will action. No amount of cleaning will fix the bathroom, for example. Booking.com should review all advertised properties on here to ensure a base minimum standard to which this has fallen significantly under.
