"Superbe rencontre!"

10.0

Beim Komfort muss man zurückstecken.

"Good"

5.0

"D’Corner Homestay was the best stay of my Java trip – very clean and new room, friendly hosts, great breakfast, and a pe"

10.0

I as a solo traveler stayed for two nights to explore the nearby waterfalls and had a truly great experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. I believe I was lucky to get one of the newer rooms — everything felt freshly renovated: the bed was incredibly comfortable (possibly the best I’ve had in 6 months of traveling through Southeast Asia), the sheets were fresh, and the room was spotless. The air conditioning was new and worked well, though I didn’t need it as the weather was very pleasant. The bathroom was simple but clean, with functioning hot water, and surprisingly included a hairdryer — not something you often find in Indonesia. Shampoo, soap, and a fresh towel were also provided. The hosts were kind and respectful — a bit reserved, as is common in Java, but always willing to help when asked. They gave helpful tips for visiting nearby waterfalls, and I could rent a scooter for a fair price (100,000 IDR/day), which made things very convenient. Breakfast was delicious — I had fried noodles, but they also offer pancakes for those who prefer Western options. Coffee or iced drinks were served in the afternoon free of charge, and breakfast times were flexible. When I came back late at 11am from the waterfalls, they were still happy to cook for me. But in case you want breakfast early in the morning, before going to the waterfall, that’s also possible. The location is ideal — close to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall (you could even walk, though I used the scooter). They also arranged transport to Mount Bromo for me at a standard price (850,000 IDR), with a polite and safe driver in a modern, air-conditioned car.

One small downside: I used the laundry service, which they handle via an external provider. Unfortunately, the laundry wasn’t washed very wekl (a common issue across Southeast Asia — cold wash, not much detergent), so some stains remained. Still, they only charged 10,000 per kilo, and it’s not the fault of the homestay itself.
