Chirag Homestay Kainchi

We were a family of four and I booked one room. I thought that an extra cot/ bed will be arranged for extra payment when reaching the payment. On reaching the property, the owner denied it. Said only 2 people can stay in a room and they usually arrange for 3 people in a room by providing extra cot. And four people in a single room is just not possible. We had to book two rooms in the end. We were standing in the cold till we got our rooms. We got the room at 9am and the staff asked us to evacuate it at 9am the next day (check out time is 10am). We would have gone to some other property, but I had already paid Rs. 1000 as an advance (which the owner asks for after we make a booking through booking.com, without payment of Rs. 1000 he doesn't reserve the room). The room was also very small. For Rs. 2200+, far better rooms are available even in an expensive city like Delhi. The thing is that there are not much hotels around Neem Karoli Baba's ashram and a lot of people come there. So demand is high and supply is low. So everyone charges very high amount of money. It's better to stay at Nainital and only do darshan at Kainchi.

I really liked the location plus the facilities provided at a valuable price. The staff was really kind and prompt in accomodating any issues. Also the food was quite tasty.

The linen could have been cleaned a little more.

Owner is very bad of this property. He never ask about service but he will come at checkout time and ask every customer to do checkout on time else he will charge 200 for a single minute late checkout.
