Lana Land Homestay Phu Quoc

I was here five years ago and returned this year since I liked it so much last time. Fortunately not much has changed over the years. Lana’s place is still very cosy and relaxed and Lana herself extremely friendly and helpful caring about her guest like her own children;).

Nothing to criticise really

Lana, the owner and her family, are very sweet, nice and helpful. She recommended us places to go like beaches and spas. You can also rent a scouter for a good price with her. Big and clean room with ac and a fan. Very quiet area. Good location near the main road.

No hot water in the shower, but it’s a thing in South Asia

Beautiful homestay with homely vibes. The hosts are fantastic. Lana's hospitality was best! Affordable price as well. You can rent bike too.

Lana was an attentive host. She clearly cared about her guests happiness. The room was large and clean and the bed comfortable.

- the door in our room had large gaps, we had to be creative to block it so mosquitos couldn't get in and spent several hours our first night killing them - outdoor bathroom is a romantic idea but not very good in reality. This and the above issue could easily be solved by having well fitted mosquito netting against the open-ceiling of the bathroom. If not this, at least one over the bed... - the water pressure was quite bad, there weren't very good bathroom supplies provided, and the more you look at the outdoor bathroom, the more problems you see. - the worst part for me was the place has a no child policy on booking.com and I saw a review where they denied people having children, so all the reviews saying you would have peace and quiet were promising. And then I got there and they had toys everywhere, there were children playing in the gardens often, screaming, crying, making noise. Not very peaceful at all for me, and I came to get AWAY from screaming kids. - it's a real shame there's no food offered to guests as an option to stay in, we didn't really get the chance to talk to anyone while we were there and maybe this or some events held at the homestay would make it more fun. - as attentive as Lana was she disappeared equally as much so didn't have always have a chance to ask questions, but she did have WhatsApp to message her. All in all this was a rather average place to stay for us. You could just as easily find somewhere closer to the beach, with a pool, offering food to guests and with no screaming kids for the same price (or sometimes cheaper). We know, because we checked, but we were only around for a couple of nights and decided to stomach it. All I can say is that all the reviews I read on here gave me very high expectations and I was pretty disappointed.

The place is terrific with a hint of a rustic touch! Rooms and cozy and big. Beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is really cool!

WiFi wouldn’t be reliable sometimes!
