PLAYA TILA Lodging & Restaurant

It was so disgusting, the room smelled like cat piss. I couldn’t sleep, cause the smell was so strong (and I’m not even talking about the loud music that even goes on after midnight, I get it’s a bar, but don’t sell rooms to sleep than). When you go in the garden: don’t think you can escape the nasty cat piss smell, cause there’s dogshit through the whole garden and that smells too!! I felt so disgusting after one night. I love animals, but only if you can take proper care. Also the room wasn’t very clean.

Nice room, garden and cafe. Good facilities (kitchen, bathroom). Possibility to drop bags before check-in + earlier check-in.

The unclear communication at arrival; we felt as an unpleasant surprise showing up earlier than the check in time. Later it was cleared up that the lady was very busy.

The artwork and interior design is exceptional and unique. The care and detail of the place really shines through ! A real gem. Easy walk from the bus station.

We stayed one night in this well-equipped lodging which combined privacy, comfort and practicality perfectly. Our room was comfortable and quiet with stylish touches, the kitchen and dining room were spacious and well equipped, the bathroom was basic and functional and there was the added bonus of the beautiful surroundings at the back and the front for relaxing. The bar and restaurant are an added bonus and seemed to be by far the most attractive place in town to consider settling down for a bite to eat or something to drink. There’s even table football! The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.

Everything was great

The Hostess spoke very good english, but also allowed me to practice my basic espanol with her in conversation. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Tilaran, and Costa Rica in general. We had a fantastic conversation about all things pura vida!

There was nothing that we didn't like about this place.... a great value, a comfortable room and bed, and the communal bathroom was just right.

Far exceeded expectations.

This is the perfect hostel stop in Tiliran to enjoy all that the town has to offer. The location is perfect and in the middle of the center. Also only a few minute walk to some great sunset viewing spots. Great shared kitchen and common area!! They also have the sweetest dog and cats that live on premises 😊
