"Room to improve (a lot)"

4.0

Great dinner. The room was fine.

There was a misunderstanding how much I should pay...they asked more than was in my booking reservation. After some arguing I paid what was right. My towel had stains in it. We agreed that I have breakfast at 7am. 7am there was no-one up and no breakfast that I paid for so I left without eating.

"Pleasant"

6.0

The host/owner was very nice and he really goes out of his way to try to provide you with the kind of stay that'll make you want to rate the place highly. Unfortunately, that's too steep of a hurdle to climb. The views from the top floor common area are great. The breakfast was good, it had enough vegetarian options. The beds are comfortable.

If you're going to charge near-Western prices, you have to come close to meeting Western standards and at $68/night this, unfortunately, didn't do it. The heat is not on when you arrive, and it takes a long time to warm up the room, I imagine it's the reverse with the AC in summer. The bathroom is very funky, the toilet seat didn't fit the toilet, making it an uncomfortable experience for all of us. The whole bathroom floor is the drain, meaning water goes everywhere when you shower. It was impossible to get the right temperature with the shower (it was either scalding or too cold). This place is not near Petra, it's like a 15 minute drive away. The parking at the hotel is ambiguous. If it wasn't low season when we went, I'm not sure we would've had a space and if we did, it would've taken a lot of coordination and our time. We only spoke to the owner by phone, the people who work there have limited to no English abilities and constantly call the owner for every simple question. There's no urgency, if you have any questions/concerns, do not expect a quick turnaround, it's easier to just assuage to the situation so you can get on to your agenda (sightseeing, Petra, etc.).

"Great place to stay or stop over in Petra region"

A very nice boutique/niche hotel set in an old very large house, tastefully decorated and well maintained. Close to Petra and on the Kings Highway. Good sized room and clean facilities. Friendly and welcoming host
