Unfortunately, we were unable to stay due to the condition of the property upon arrival.

We arrived at the property on the night of check-in and immediately found the accommodation not suitable for guests. The bedding had visible stains and discoloration, and the bed was clearly not freshly prepared, giving the impression it had already been used. The room and common areas were not cleaned or reset for guest arrival and contained clutter and personal items. Additionally, the room doors were already open and unlocked upon arrival, despite check-in instructions stating that each room would have a locking mechanism accessed via individual codes. This raised immediate security concerns, especially given that this is a shared home. These issues were observed immediately upon arrival before any use of the room or facilities. We documented everything with photos and reported to the booking platform right away. By then it was around 1:00 a.m., forcing us to find last-minute alternative accommodation. The host initially denied the claims, requiring photographic evidence. We uploaded the fotos. After reviewing the photos, the platform confirmed the accommodation was not fit to stay in and refunded only their commission (about 10%), while confirming the host refused to refund the rest despite the stay not taking place. When contacted directly, the host later acknowledged in writing: “I sincerely apologize for the stain you noticed,” and also acknowledged that areas appeared messy, yet still refused to issue a refund, offering only a cleaning fee as a “gesture of goodwill” (which was never refunded). With new proof, the platform then attempted to re-negotiate on our behalf and later confirmed in writing: “We’ve tried our very best to discuss this with the property, given that you have provided supporting documents, the property denied to give further actions.” We were left without usable accommodation and incurred additional costs. Regardless of accommodation type, clean bedding, basic hygiene, and secure access are minimum expectations. Save your money....
