Nice location, cosy room and nice staff.

The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly… the location is a bit far from downtown, therefore it’s very quiet. And the view in the neighborhood is wonderful!

It's a beautiful property surrounded facing lush green jungle and 50 MTRS from the main road. The owner and staff were very helpful and professional.

Good things about Himalayan Homestay: 1) Owner and his family were friendly and helpful. 2) Location: It was almost at the end of the main street with café, restaurants, grocery, fruit stand, local clothes shops and souvenir shops, trekking services. Less or more activity around, so you will not be alone or isolated. 3) My room looked the same as in booking.com pictures, but in reality it is a smaller than in pictures. It was okay size room for one person only. Too small for two people. It had everything needed: clean and comfy bed, warm blankets, towel, soap, toilet paper, electric kettle, cups and water. Socket was near the bed/not at the bed, which was uncomfortable to charge laptop. Probably 2-3-meter-long power strip would be great to comfortably charge laptop and phone at the same time. Water in the shower was so weak, so I was using bucket to take a quick shower. 4) Free wi-fi internet worked very well in my room. 5) Homemade food from guesthouse owner’s wife (for separate payment) was tasty and good. 6) Cleaning lady comes every day, but I didn’t need daily cleaning. 7) Main sightseeing places like Naddi view point and sunset view point were 2-3 minutes of walking distance and Lake Dal was 10 minutes of walking distance from the guesthouse. Breathtaking views to the Himalayan mountains and to the valley around. Dalai Lama’s temple and residence in Mcleodganj (not in Dharamsala as written in internet!) is 10-15 minutes of driving by tuk tuk/autorikshaw. Overall, it is a nice and safe place to stay. It has everything what foreigners need. I enjoyed my time in Himalayan Homestay. I can recommend this place for foreigners.

What made me cry: It is a good place to stay during summer when it is warmer outside and inside. Early March 2025 - My room was freezing cold, damp and humid as you can see from the window. I had steam coming out of my mouth when I was speaking or breathing in my room. I couldn’t feel my fingers when I was having my tea or food in the evenings. So, I was crying in my room some time as it was very cold. It’s possible to rent a heater, but my budget was very tight and limited, so I couldn’t afford it. Owner offered me to use heater for an hour for free of charge, but I didn't want to abuse his hospitality.

The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and above all very quiet which is important in India. the owner is helpful and kind. I spent 4 days away from the noise of the city and I felt at home! I recommend to everyone!!
