Cham Island Homestay Lau Thu

Overall, we had a good stay. The family is very nice, welcoming and friendly. The room is basic but okay for that price. We loved our time on this island, but it could be improved with better communication. Recommend for a stay of 1-2 nights

The main problem here is miscommunication. We had initially booked 1 night through booking.com and then asked them via message if we could extend one more night - which they happily confirmed. When we arrived they insisted that we had booked for only one night. They had an overbooking. After a short discussion using a translator we could agree to stay. We asked them if there was any place on the island where we could go snorkeling by ourselves, without a tour. They said no, only with boat. So we booked their boat tour and later found out that there was actually a nearby beach with much better corals than the ones they had shown us. The boat trip was ok, but it felt like they didn’t tell us about the other place to sell their tour. When we arrived to the island, they waited for us with a motorbike taxi to take us to the homestay. Our plan was to rent a scooter from the town and return it before we leave. But like this we were forced to go with their taxi service and later rent the scooter with them. They need to communicate the pick-up service in advance. Like this we ended up paying 280 VND for that, which we could have saved if we directly rented a scooter. Nobody here speaks any English, which makes it difficult to communicate.

Loved my stay here , friendly hosts and delicious dinners. Authentic village life. Room was clean with good ac.

Friendly staff close to the beach , great environment

Very friendly family that’s makes you feel like home. They also have the nicest dog. Room was comfortable and had a great roof terrace with nice views. You stay in an authentic village,. The family dinner at 7 on the beach was plentiful and tasty.

L'emplacement dans le petit village de pêcheurs à 4 km de l'embarcadère (mieux vaut avoir un scooter)

La salle de bain est annoncée comme privée mais elle est sur le palier et non dans la chambre. Elle n'était pas propre non plus. Personne ne parle anglais. L'accueil est plutôt froid.

Les propriétaires sont accueillants et font leur possible pour que nous passions un bon séjour. Le fait de prendre le petit déjeuner et le dîner face à la mer, sur le port. Le fait qu'ils nous attendaient à la sortie du bateau .

It was out of the main town, but perfect if you want to rent bikes and explore the island!! The family is so lovely and their home is very clean! They do yummy family dinners every night, and will recommend the good beaches for snorkelling. We got stuck on the island because of the weather and they were so helpful, would absolutely stay there again!!

Abbiamo soggiornato con la famiglia di Lau due notti e ci siamo sentiti come a casa. La loro homestay é una casa semplice e con servizi semplici ma la loro ospitalità ha reso il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile. Sia i padroni che il figlio sono sempre pronti a prendersi cura di te e si assicurano continuamente che tu abbia tutto ciò che ti serve. Abbiamo fatto snorkeling insieme a loro e al loro cane Lili (mascotte indiscussa), abbiamo pescato, affittato uno scooter e girato tutte le spiagge, abbiamo mangiato grigliate di pesce fronte mare e ci siamo goduti la pace e la tranquillità di un villaggio vero e autentico, abitato da pescatori gentili e sorridenti. Grazie per averci accolto e fatto sentire parte della vostra comunità ❤️

La familia que lo lleva, hasta el perro, buenísimo. El pueblecito dónde está los vecinos son fantásticos, es como retroceder a la niñez, con la gente sentada en la puerta de la casa frente al mar, una paz una tranquilidad.

Quizás si pusieran una pequeña estantería mejoraría mucho en comodidad
