- friendly staff

I have stayed 2 weeks at Himaya at didnt enjoy it at all. I was not able to cancel due to booking.com policy. My villa was very uncomfortable and I was not able to relax a second. First of all, it was facing the main restaurant so staff was staring at me if my curtains were not fully closed (pitch dark in villa). Also, facing the main road. Secondly, my villa was next to kitchen and staff accomodation so I could smell cooked food as well as constantly hear staff talking. Last, AC was working very loudly so it was not possible to sleep. Additionally, I checked in 20h after my check in time but my room was not ready!! I had to change villas the following day. When it comes to facilities, there is zero area to chill, dry clothes after surf (all sheltered) or even to read a book. I do not recommend at all and regret to book this place. Ps: It is way overpriced for what you get!

This is the perfect place to stay.. very quite. you can really feel the island vibes and it's not too far away from the main thoroughfare, just 5 to 7mins away on a motorbike. I would gladly book with Himaya again on my next visit to Siargao.

The place was perfect for me. The staff, the ambiance of the place. It was just so relaxing and you can really feel at home. It is indeed a home away from home.

I loved the decor and design of the resort and the room design is very nice. I particularly liked the bathroom design. The staff is lovely and was very welcoming.

- WiFI - There is No WiFi in the rooms!!! We’re in 2024. I’d suggest to have a router in every room. I would not have booked this resort if I had known there’s no WiFi in the rooms. I suggested to put a WiFi extender and I was told by the staff (and confirmed by the owner), that no wifi in the room is intentional. The owner said that many guests prefer no WiFi. In my humble opinion, if a guest ask for WiFI connection, it is simple enough to provide it. Eventually, the owner did offer to put a router in my room, but it should have not escalated to a meeting with the owner in order to get it. I would mention that It states in Himaya's 'WiFi policy' on Booking.com that 'WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge’. In respond to a guest question 'what is the Wifi speed?’ Himaya’s answer was 'So far our internet connection is stable but still depending on the weather here in the island.’ But It was certainly not clear enough for me that there is no wifi in the rooms at all. - The rooms - Although I liked the design, I find the room size small and humid/stuffy. - The rooms sit right on the path, so the lack in privacy as you need to keep the blackout curtains close if you want some privacy. The light in the room is very dim and I find it depressing. I would suggest to put more lights. - The bed was too small and too hard for me. - When I arrived there was a very strong odor of Naphthalene from the bathroom that was very overwhelming. Luckily, I asked to remove it and it was removed. Apparently it was to prevent cockroaches, (which it didn’t) - AC - the rooms include AC units, but those are ‘windows AC’, which means that they are in bed level and the motor is attached to the unit, so it make a noise of a truck in your room when working. I would suggest AC units with a separate motor. - There was a strong sewage smell just outside the room. Maybe it’s common in Siargao? I don't know.

Spent only 1 night here, but it was absolutely perfect. The location is a bit further from the main road, but nice and quiet. Staff was super helpful. Definitely recommend :)

Very nice stay, staff were super nice, room was clean and comfy. AC worked well. good food at the restaurant and very good breakfast. Best pancakes ever. Amenities all close by, 2 mins scooter ride to restaurants etc. Scooters available to rent at good price. Tours available to book.

Only thing to mention was no hot water in the shower. Wasnt a problem for me personally but may be an issue for some.
