Central Retro Vintage Hostel

I liked how there was separate bathrooms for women and men. The beds were comfy and the temperature inside wasn’t too cold or hot. There wasn’t any lockers but no one has any issue with their stuff being stolen. I carried all my documents and important stuff with me at all times anyways. Carl who was there, was extremely helpful and polite. Really really grateful for him making it such a great experience. The older lady living there was also very lovely despite lack of English. The location was brilliant. Very central. Only 15 minute walk to old town. Lots of stores and stuff near by.

There was issues with overbooking apparently at one point but was sorted the next day, despite this everything else was good.

Amenities were good – towels provided, bathroom and room was well cleaned. Beds were comfortable, with 3 sockets per person. Very cozy environment. Good host with a very friendly child to greet you. Asked if I could store my bag in the morning before checking in later in the day, and host was kind enough to give me an early check-in free-of-charge.

Since it is a dorm room in a guesthouse – rather than a standalone hostel – the social atmosphere is quite dead. Only 1-2 other people in the room while I was there. Would not recommend if you often stay up late as you should keep quiet, respecting that the host and their child need to sleep. Floor is creaky and the room isn’t very soundproof so a light sleeper might have trouble sleeping.
