The house is located in a small side street, so there's no noise from traffic. You will have access to a large kitchen/living space, so you're not confined to just your own room. There are two stops of the TransCaribe bus system nearby, so it's possible to get to the city center fast without having to use a taxi. In the neighborhood, there are two shopping malls (Los Ejecutivos and Paseo de la Castellana) where you can get everything you need and more. The hosts are very friendly and always available to answer questions or provide help. All in all, it's a good option for an inexpensive stay in a real Cartagena neighborhood.

If you need a lot of luxury, then you might be better off in one of the touristy parts of the city. For me, this was no issue, though. If you feel unsafe walking around at night, you can use a taxi.
