Noah's Nest Tree House

The setting is beautiful, up in the trees on a hill overlook the river below. The family who own the property are just lovely ! So welcoming. The food was good and the dining area has a fabulous view as do all of the tree houses.The caretaker was informative, attentive and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable, if you like birds it's a paradise. I will certainly return.

Absolutely nothing!

• Incredible location with terrific views. • Everything is so cool: access to the restaurant area is through a suspended wooden bridge, the tree houses are far enough from each other to offer privacy, the boat house adds to the uniqueness of the location, the restaurant has an old colonial lounge style and is fitted with a pool… • Cool lighting at night, making the place safe but still wild. • Easy walking & hiking paths straight from accommodation. • Good local traditional food offered on site.

• Wifi is very long to connect to (it took 20 minutes for the first device to get internet access, 60 minutes for the second). For some reason, iPhones cannot access the internet on the local network. 4G is okay.

This property was really unique and I was very happy to have spent 3 nights here, 2 nights in the houseboat and 1 night in the treehouse. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse because of its authenticity, views and great food. The owner and caretakers also were very helpful in arranging activities and driving me to the bus station with the tuktuk.

Not a bad thing, but good to know; the guesthouse is +/- 40 minutes away from the Periyar national park. You can take a tuktuk to the busstand and take a bus to Kumily or go directly by tuktuk.

Amazing, magical place! Beautiful surroundings. We swam in the river and went kayaking. Looked at the colourful birds. But the biggest joy was meeting Ghanesh, the caretaker, he is funny, helpful and there is not one thing that Ghanesh cannot arrange for you. We highly recommend the place.

We stayed in the boat house, and it was by far the most special and memorable stay of our trip. The surroundings are absolutely stunning and peaceful, such that we decided to spend our days here to recharge rather than go on any tours. Idling away on the balcony of the boat or lounging in the adjcent hammock was just delightful. Kayaking on the river was a highlight! We also went on some short, pleasant walks, engaging with friendly locals on the way: one to the nearby village (where you can find all essentials) and one in the other direction. Being directly by the water was great for nature watching and it felt like we were the only ones there (while feeling completely safe as two females). The room itself was clean, comfortable and free from creepy crawlies. Wifi was surprisingly very good too. At night it was an amazing experience going to sleep with the sounds of nature around us. We had breakfast and vegetarian dinner, which were very tasty. Although you can choose to order food to eat in the room we opted for the home cooked dinner in the main building so as not to risk attracting any ants on our balcony. The logistics of our stay were also smooth - the caretaker Ganesh was friendly and helpful, and the owners super hospitable and fluent in English, helping us arrange a taxi for our onward travel. We stayed for two days but would definitely recommend staying longer if your itinerary allows for it.

It is inside an estate, very silent and refreshing.

First we booked for tree house but we got boat house.party mistake is from outside as well Boathouse is on the rever side,which is 50 to 60 mtrs below , without no proper steps or walking tracks.Food is being prepared by a estate lady,which is very ordinary with very limited choice. Being a senior citizen it is a nightmare to reach the parking area from river side. Overall we spoiled the 2024 New year
