Munroeisland Backwaters Homestay

Lovely place for a couple of days. Idyllic and quiet. The location is very good: 1min from the river and away from the busy tourist spots. Spectacular sunrise and sunset tours by canoe and kayak. The host is a funny character. The food prepared by the family is delicious. Would recommend

Vijeesh and his family are very perceptive hosts, they understand the nuances of amazing hospitality and they offer a relaxed but thoughtful service. Their Homestay is a very special place, I loved my time there and I could not fault anything. The food was exceptional and the kayak and canoe tours were very memorable. I don’t think I ever give 10/10 but this place blew me away.

We really liked Vijesh's place. You're surrounded by beautiful nature and palm trees, close to the river and some small shops. Our highlight, besides the boat tour (they offer two options—sunset and sunrise tours), was definitely the delicious meal cooked by Vijesh's lovely mother. The room is spotlessly clean! We definitely recommend staying in this little paradise.

This was my second stay at Munroe Island Backwater Homestay. The location is breathtaking, and is perfect for a relaxing trip. The staff are so kind, and the food is fantastic - there's always something different on the menu. I felt incredibly safe at the house, and would be more than comfortable visiting alone as a female!

No Vijeesh and no bikes!

A wonderful place to chill! The rooms look well cared for and neat. Sanitary facilities are clean and a lovely bed with a good mattress. Vajjeesh is a great host and enjoys making others happy with his service. The food is freshly prepared with attention and love by the family, which tastes delicious and also looks beautiful.
