Vijeesh and his family are really kind and welcoming. The food, kayak and the sunrise boat tour were just amazing. We just felt like home and enjoyed our stay to the fullest.

"Best Kerala backwater experience ever..."

Vijash and his family run this Fabulous homestay on Munroe island. We had a lovely big a/c room with private bathroom. There is a communal area where meals are served and/or just to chill with hammocks and comfy chairs. We went on the early evening sunset canoe trip - amazing just floating down the canals. Also got up at 5:00am for the sunrise canoe trip, spectacular. The food, wow... Absolutely delicious take on South Indian cuisine I can safely say that these was the best meals I've had in Kerala. Highly recommend this homestay.

A place with a wonderful vibe. Sharing dinner with guests from around the world made Munroe backwaters Homestay very special. The sunrise canoe trip was magical. Highly recommended

Beautiful homestay just a few steps away from the water. Our stay in Monroe Island was one of the highlights of our three weeks in India and definitely some of the best food we ate on our trip (cooked by Vijeesh’s very talented sister and mum) During our stay we done a sunrise and sunset canoe tour with Vijeesh both were fantastic and we felt very safe throughout. Vijeesh as a host was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny and we felt very welcomed by the family as soon as we arrived. Vijeesh and his family have made something really special with this homestay and I would 100% recommend to anyone.

This is the most brilliant place to stay. We loved everything about it. In particular the host Vijeesh is the most superb guy and just a delight to have as your host. His whole family are lovely too. Thank you for such a fantastic stay. We will be back !!!
