Chipmunk Home Stay

What a wonderful homestay and family running it. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful with all our travel arrangements and requests. The food has to get a special mention! Chipmonk Homestay has opened a restaurant and traditional cooking facility, and we were honoured to be asked to open it on their first day. If you are looking for a traditional Sri Lankan homestay experience, Chipmonk Homestay comes highly recommended. We wish you all the luck with your expanding venture.

Friendly and accommodating family, speak English well. We got a warm welcome. Kind and professional. Room was clean. Nice breakfast.

Matrass and pillow are on the thin side, which we would call a matrass topper in Europe.

This lovely Home Stay is situated on a quiet road close to the lake, surrounded by plenty of (fruit)trees. Close by is a well kept pavilion where excellent breakfast (western or local) and dinner is served - cooked by the owner. Every meal was different with a variety of dishes prepared with local - or even homegrown - ingredients. Simply delicious. Our room was clean, the bed was equipped with a new mosquito net and we had access to our private balcony.

Owner and his family were so kind and helpful, they made us the most amazing curry dinner. Super friendly and welcoming would recommend. Room was within walking distance to a lovely lake as well as many temples within a little longer walk.

No AC in the room so it was a little hot but the fan helped. Also no wifi but that was ok for us.

Chipmunk Homestay is a really special place, located outside of the center of Anuradhapura. The house has a beautiful garden and they also serve food. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and have fair prices. We never experienced such a welcoming and friendly family, they made us feel like we are part of the family! Hope to be back one day!

We felt like home! The whole family was so warmhearted and we had such a great time with everybody. When we arrived we have got invited to their homemade dinner. In the morning we had a traditional breakfast, which was really amazing!! The food was so delicious and we learned a lot about the Sri Lankan living, their beautiful garden and the schoolsystem of their kids. Highly recommended, if you are looking for a lovely stay with small budget and big kindness. Thank you so much!!

We were warmly welcomed from the family. Everyone was caring and nice. The room was very clean, with a balcony, very quiet. The breakfast was good.

The breakfast was very overpriced, nearly as much as our stay.
