"Great value and convenience for the money."

8.0

I've stayed here many times. The suites are large, clean and comfortable, if not fancy. With one notable exception, the staff is friendly and accommodating. A female staff member rudely demanded that I leave after I'd been given a late checkout, but that's been my only bad experience in years of staying there.

"Modern, clean hotel close to everything"

8.0

We booked a suite for 7 nights through RCI, and were very happy with our modern suite, with a very comfortable bed, good pillows, and a walk-in wardrobe with lots of storage, large mirror, and a safe. The bathroom was also large, with good hot shower over the bath, floor to ceiling mirror, nice wide towel racks. The living area had dining table, 4 chairs, microwave, fridge, plates, cutlery. We didnt use the coffeemaker because of the high charges. The lounge appeared to be a sofabed, and there were 2 TV's, with mainly Spanish channels, although I occasionally found a movie in English. The aircon only seemed to work in the kitchen, so we kept the windows open. We were in room 902 and the wifi worked well in the room, although I couldn't get it in the lobby. Breakfast was the usual Argentinian fare, with sliced ham and cheese, brown and white bread, 2 types of cakes changed daily, medialunas (croissants) spreads such as honey, jam and dulce de leche -yum!. There was canned and fresh fruit, sultanas and cereal. The orange juice was not fresh and there was a liquid strawberry yoghurt in a jug. Coffee was self-service. Scrambled eggs would be made on request, but I didnt see this advertised. Very friendly, courteous, English-speaking front desk staff will assist with anything you need, including booking day tours. We booked tours recommended by Aleco and Alfonso at the front desk and loved them. They were the Estancia Santa Susana gaucho fiesta, and Tango Madero show, which was fantastic. On another day we walked down to Avenida 9 de Julio to Tango Porteno near the Teatro Colon, and booked the tango show only for 430 pesos (AUD$43) p.p. This is a classic tango show in a beautiful Art Deco theatre. We walked down to Recoleta Cemetario and found a guide, Raul, outside who took us on a very informative walking tour explaining the history of the rich and famous buried there, for a cost of 150 pesos each - well worth it. Another good day was the morning boat ride to Tigre with a city tour in the afternoon. There is a Sunday market on the cobblestone streets of San Telmo - about 80 pesos in a cab. Great for shopping, watching tango, and eating. There is a supermarket around the corner for water, wine, snacks etc. Many great cafes within walking distance, El Cisne is a lovely Argentinian restaurant on the nearest corner, and All That Food across from the lights for vegetarian options as well as inexpensive menu of the day. Metered taxis were generally 60-80 pesos to anywhere

"overpriced"

4.0

Nice hotel and location, breakfast was ok. But the internet is the worst thing of the world. It ruined the stay. We took a room on the 10th floor, and the air conditioner wasn't working. Dont recommend the hotel to anyone. Its pricey for what you get.

"Mixed experience - terrible wifi"

6.0

Great location, nice staff. Rooms are adequate and comfortable, though sheets, towels, etc., are somewhat old. TERRIBLE INTERNET - very bad experience with the wifi, which didn't work properly ever during a 9-day stay. If you need to be connected, I recommend staying somewhere else. Plus, a number of other small inconveniences.

"Extended Stay"

6.0

Stayed three nights with a G Adventures tour. The hotel has an interesting layout, with two rooms on the front and others in a back section separated by a large courtyard. Further, the two front rooms each have an elevator, side by side, but separated by seven or eight feet. (You quickly learn which one to take.) Our room (#802) faced the courtyard and the back of the hotel, within what was a huge window well because there were tall buildings on either side of the hotel. The suite was quite large, with a separate sitting room, kitchen/dining area, a bedroom, a dressing area with plenty of storage, and a bathroom. The décor was modern tending toward minimalist. It was comfortable, but we never took advantage of all the space. If one was staying a week or more and intending on cooking some meals, it would be perfect. Same would apply for a family with children. The neighborhood is convenient to restaurants, ATMs, laundries, etc. You can also walk to Recoleta or to other areas in the city center. The desk clerk was helpful, and the room was equipped with a safe. The breakfast, however, was disappointing, little choice, poor quality, and no hot items. Based on our experience, we would recommend it only to people who wanted to take advantage of the kitchen and large living space.

"Excellent home base to visit Buenos Aires and surrounding area!"

10.0

My husband and I are delighted with our stay at this hotel! We have been here for a week, and right from the first, the staff provided excellent service. We arrived very early due to an overnight flight, way too early for check in, but they were able to get us into a room shortly after we arrived. What a relief to have a place to rest before we went exploring in the city! The location is perfect for visiting many places; close to the metro stop and buses, as well as walking distance to several major attractions. The staff has helped us every day, from recommending good places to eat (all great, local eateries) to helping us plan transportation, answering questions about the sights and changing money. The breakfast is European style with cereal, bread and pastry items, a lot of fruit, ham and cheese, assorted tea, juices, coffee and milk as well. It gives a good start to the day. The room is large with everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a bathtub Jacuzzi. There is a full set of dinnerware for eating in the room, as well as a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. We spent our days traveling in and around the city and always had a cheerful front desk clerk greeting us when we returned, as well as a quiet, clean room and comfortable bed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Buenos Aires!

"Sanity Savers!"

8.0

I just checked into Design Suites this morning around 6 am after a 10 hour flight from the US. I am meeting a travel group and had no room booked because I would be arriving in the morning and had planned to sleep on the plane. Unfortunately, I did not sleep at all because of a VERY full flight but Nickolas came to my rescue! He was able to switch around some rooms (my travel mate was already here and asleep) and provide me with a place to rest my sleepy head! Thank you thank you thank you! As far as I am concerned, everything else now is secondary but as I can tell, the hotel is very quiet, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean. There is a safe and a mini-fridge which is stocked with drinks (the water in the fridge may be complimentary? That wasn't clear in my 6 am haze). The bathroom is adequate and the location is close to some nice points of interest. I missed breakfast this morning so I can't comment but it is included which is nice.
