Apartment Center

I think this is the most unique apartment we have ever been to. Cozy, special. We loved the ceiling lamps, obviously homemade. Each room has its soul. There is also shelve with "journey of things" - very cool concept. Close to the lake, cca 5 minutes. Recommending for all artsy people and all that love to see reused stuff with new life. The owner was very kind, he even let us stay past the checkout time.

While the bathroom is in the apartment, the toilet is not. It is located across the hall, but the owner guaranteed it is only for our apartment. I did not mind, but my wife said she felt a little bit uncomfortable. So take into account if you are one of those who needs his peace while... Well, you know... Also, there was sauna listed on the site, which I suppose you could technically count as (there was little wood stove in the shower room with big pot on top of it), but you needed to fire the stove by yourself which I thought was pretty dangerous with my three kids.

The toilet is outside of the apartment and its quite cold to get there. The heating also took almost all night to warm up, as we realised to turn it on only when we got back.

Independence. Clean and interesting decor. Central to town.

The shower hook was broken, but the shower worked fine. The toilet was outside the main apartment door.

Really convenient location in the center of Gmunden. You can walk to the lakeside and also to the Grünberg cable car station. Good number of beds and rooms for a family of 4. Rather unique layout and interior - interesting but a bit of a double edged sword. Host (and family) were friendly and helpful to let us shower in their bathroom when the hot water ran out in the apartment (to be fair, this was apparently an atypical occurrence).

A few things that's not apparent from the pictures. It may work for other but a little less based on our expectation with kids. - the toilet is in the hallway. While it is solely for the guest, the hallway is not entirely private. There were people heading up to the attic at night, and into the other room or apartment on the same floor, and we had to cross the hallway to the toilet. - the sauna is really a DIY/start your own fire chimney in the bathroom. A charming idea but not practical with kids. - parking, as expected near the center, is not so convenient if you have quite a bit of luggage. - laundry/washing machine is actually in the owner's house - there was no airconditioning in the apartment as stated in the listing (maybe you need to ask for it but we fortunately didn't need it when we stayed, i.e. it would likely be a single portable a/c unit).

This is a unique and eccentric spot for guests looking for adventure in a good taste. If you are the one, this it! Great location in the center of a cozy town. Apartament located in a historic, few hundred years old building, combining tradition with modern touch, shaped bravely by the owner, very friendly artist running his own gallery on the ground floor. Calm street, cafe just around the corner, 5 minutes walk to the lake shore and center of the town. Nice, historic street view from the windows.

Public parking space located 5-10 minutes walk away depending on availability (first by the church, second on Seilergasse str), all paid daily between 9-17, you need to carry your luggage and climb with it on the second floor. On our departure day we noticed however a few parking places just on Pfarrhofgasse, visible from our window, and used them to avoid carrying the luggage again. This is allowed just during the daytime (8-20) since the historic center is not available for guests cars at night. The artistic, sophisticated apartment equipment is not always convenient, but it is unique, eccentric, with taste, surprising and we loved it.

The property is situated in the city center where you have good accessibility to the tram station. There are good restaurants nearby. The flat feature with unique characteristics

The heating was not warm enough.

The apartment is very cosy and every little thing in it is interesting or atypical. The location could not be better, directly in the city centre.

Perhaps parking is a bit challenging, but then again you're directly in the city center.
