We stayed for the second time at Taxacher's. We got a different appartment this time but also very well equipped (incl. dishwasher, oven, kitchen hob and microwave). As there were 3 days in a row with shops closed during Xmas the oven came in particularly handy for the "famous" ;-) Austrian bread rolls with longer shelf life which you need to bake in the oven for a few minutes before use. Mrs Taxacher is a very nice person and doesn't get in your way at all. Even though the guesthouse seemed to be full this time there was always a place to park our car. One bed was a bit squeaky - apologies for our neighbours, it didn't disturb ourselves at all though ;-)

We were very happy with Ferienwohnung Taxacher, it was a very good choice. The apartment was huge and very comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean and prepared. There was lots of kitchen kitchen utensils, almost nothing was lacking. It was very warm in the apartment which was a nice surprise. Parking was just next to front doors, there is a ski cellar to put boots and skis. It is true that there is a main road close to the building, but windows are soundproof and it never bothered us during our stay. Hosts are very nice and the building looks very good - traditional Tirol house - a part of a farm which gives a pleasant countryside atmosphere. Highly recommended. I actually think it's the best ski apartment I've been to. The location is also very good. It took us 10-25min to get to the ski resorts in the morning - Zillertal Arena, Hochzillertal Kaltenbach and Mayrhofen.

Everything was great but if I had to point something - there is no toaster in the kitchen and the shower is quite small.

Very friendly host, Mrs Renate kindly let us upgrade the studio appartment we initially booked for 2 persons only to a huge 2-bedroom one on a very short notice and at a reasonable extra price (thanks to some cancelled booking). It was very big and comfortable for 3 persons. The kitchen was very well equipped with lots of plates, pots, knives and forks etc. The ski room had a shoe dryer, the parking was big and convenient. It is right next to the main Zillertal road, a few minutes drive away from Kaltenbach, ~10 min. from Zillertal Arena, ~20 min. from Horbergbahn and ~45 min from Hintertux. The owners have some farm animals (cows, horses) and 3 or more cats - it gives the place a nice rural look and feel :-)

The wifi was a bit temperamental - I think it could do with a look of an IT proffessional as some or all of our devices often could not obtain an IP address which was weird (typical subnet should fit 253 devices which should be more than enough for 5 appartments). Once you got connected it worked smoothly, though.
