Peacehaven Shack on the Irwin Inlet

This place is more then you'd ever imagined! The photos don't do it justice. Nikky was also extremely accommodating and easy to contact for anything we needed. We will be raving to all our family and friends about this place as well as come back again.

Very quiet and cozy. Paper bark trees so beautiful. Wondered about staying in a “shack” but it was a pleasant surprise.

Wish we knew about fish and chips at Peaceful Bay. Found out from folks at Walpole.

The location is so beautiful and nice big windows to take in the views. Nice having the bedroom seperate from the kitchen. loved the outside bbq with a view.

There is just a laundry sink for a basin, so a little bit of juggling if you want to use the sink after the bathroom and you have dishes drying in the sink. Simple kitchen which is good enough for the basics. I think it is bore or rain water so good to take drinking water.

No answer from hosts despite ringing several times and leaving messages. Slugs in the bathroom, not as clean as it could have been. Shack indeed it was.

Beautiful setting, away from everything, on the inlet, lovely location.

It would have been helpful to know that the midges come in swarms at nightfall, given the location. It's not something that the owner can do anything about, but we would have really appreciated some warning on arrival, and instructions about how to minimise them coming inside. We'd been reading our books after dinner so had the lights on, which attracted them. By the time we realised they were a problem, the ceiling was covered!! Since this room was also the bedroom, we tried to get them to move out by putting the light on in the other area. Not helpful! They just kept increasing. When we phoned the owner for advice, the solution was, Turn all the lights off and go to bed. Not what we had planned for 8.30/9pm since we're night owls and usually go to bed close to midnight. It definitely dampened our enjoyment of our stay. Thankfully it was just for one night, since we were doing a roadtrip and travelling through. The walls and floor were full of midges the next morning, and would have needed a good thorough clean if we had stayed. We were disappointed because everything else indicated it would have been a lovely stay. I think they were just particularly bad that week, but we wished that we had been warned ahead and given help to deal with them.
