Nature Retreat on Mandalay

Very quiet not many around had pool to myself, older resort and facilities could use a tidy up but great room with everything you could want for an island retreat

The walk to room was uphill to unload the car but allowed us to drive up service road to repack on departure

The accommodation was clean and was a home away from home very comfortable and very central to everywhere.

The shower water was hard to contain to shower cubicle. Steep walk to unit was very challenging 😥 and would be a reason not to rebook. The pool was closed.

Family friendly, close to amenities.

Nothing we didn’t like actually.

roomy and had everything we needed. Host, Simon was very accommodating.

1. I liked having a kitchen in the unit 2. The resort staff were friendly 3. The host was back in touch quickly when required

1. I didn't like that the bathroom flooded 2. I didn't like that there were major excavation works happening outside the kitchen window 3. I didn't like that the fans (plural) didn't work 4. I didn't like having to contact the owner to report the above 5. I didn't like that the resort is VERY old and in dire need of TLC and money to be spent on it. 6. I didn't like that the resort kept a snake in a cage at reception. :( 7. I didn't like that the resort is quite a way out of Nelly Bay and that the onsite restaurant / cafe was closed. 8. I didn't like that the price was bumped up by $100 overnight when the owner found out that an event was going to be on. The price tag is TOO hefty for the quality, age and lack of facilities.
