Beachside 5 with Ocean glimpses

As some one who has managed accommodation, also listed on Booking.com there was nothing good about this accommodation. It was dirty, the kitchen sink was a bathroom sink painted white and did not hold water. The dishes in the cupboard and the cutlery were dirty, the microwave was dirty, there were broken drawers, missing door handles, cockroaches. I contacted the owner who sent the cleaner around. Too late for that. First impressions count. While the bed linen was clean, the bed and pillows smelled dirty. My husband is asthmatic and sat up in a straight back chair all night as he couldn't sleep in the bed or sit on the couch, so what I liked the best was leaving first thing the next morning even though we had booked for three nights.

Everything could have been better. The owner was initially helpful but this changed when we rejected the offer of a clean the next day. That would not have solved the problem of the stained furniture covers, the cockroaches, the couch which gave me a rash when I sat on it, the mould on top of the fridge, and in the storage cupboard, months of grime in the pantry. And no screens on the windows, so no fresh air. I could go on, but it just makes me irritated to think that I wasted my money on something that looked great online but did not deliver. We went to Cairns first thing the next morning and were lucky enough to be able to negotiate early check into the accommodation we had already booked. A beautiful one bedroom apartment, spotlessly clean, with a pool, one block off the Esplanade for $160.00/night. Not a filthy place for $200/night. It's places like this that give Port Douglas a bad name.

Well appointed and you felt relaxed the minute you walked up the stairs.

The kitchen was OK and having a dishwasher would have been useful.

The apartment has the potential to be a great little holiday house in a great location on 4 mile beach. Nicely furnished with a really nice layout. We had a car so getting into port Douglas was no problem. Kitchen was well equipped. Owner was contactable. Stunning large bathroom.

Ok. The unit has some issues that require maintenance. Kitchen tap falling off. Dodgey bathroom power point and totally non functioning kitchen sink. It did feel slightly grubby as we had to clean a couple of large stains on the floor when we arrived. The lovely bifold doors into the unit didn’t open out and the unit was not secured by the front gate. (Easy reach over and open despite the keypad).We had to ask for a key so we could lock up. Parking was on the street if the two car carport was taken.

it wasn’t very clean including no dishwasher and sink was inadequate it was a bathroom sink in the kitchen so pots and pans were not good to use as uncomfortable to think they were clean

it was spacious, bright, well maintained and full of all facilities. nice beach side property where you can spend days on end.

it is on the other end of the main city part of port douglas so to go to wharf you will need your own vehicle or taxi every time.

We had a fantastic time living in this appartment for 6 nights in March 23. Everything was in line with the description and photographs in the app. The hosts were contactable during the visit helping us with a few questions we had regarding the property and the local area in general. An absolute joy to stay there, happily recommend and hope to get back there again. Thanks for everything.
