Cromwell Apartment - 3 Red Doors Battery Point

Location is fabulous. Nicely renovated kitchenette and bathroom. Shower temperature hard to control. Bath very good & deep. Loved the historic touches, such as original fireplaces and skirting boards. Wall heaters very good also and beds were comfortable. Apartment was clean, except for webs around some of the sash windows and dusty skirting boards.

However, nothing could compensate for the rattling windows. We know and appreciate that these Georgian windows are very old, however, they need immediate attention. Every time we have visited Hobart it has been windy. That being said, the constant wind made both the windows rattle loudly (during almost the entire 3 nights spent at property) and the living room and bedroom doors creak in the wind rushing through one of the broken sashes (window jammed, leaving top sash gaping. We had to jam toilet paper into gaps and it still did not work. I'm afraid this affected sleep quality, and due to this reason alone, we would not stay at apartment again. Other factor is lack of privacy. The windows really need shutters OR sheers to keep bedrooms private. Shutters would certainly help mediate temperature and help block noise from pedestrians outside.

The courtyard light wasn’t working so it was very dark at night. The lounge needed some lamps to make it feel cosy.

Great location, walking distance to most things :)

Outdated television

Charming historical building, tastefully decorated. The large beds were very comfortable, the bathroom well appointed, and the kitchen well supplied with everything necessary for a short stay. The apartment is an easy walk from the waterfront and shops, cafes, and restaurants. Parking was on the street, but was always available at the front of the property. The nights were quiet, distinguishing it from some of the waterfront apartments, which can be noisy.

The only tiny criticism is that the location of the door key box for our particular unit could have been better described. We initially tried to get the key from the box for another apartment.

Everything. Faultless. Location absolutely incredible.

We saw the bbq so bought all the things to have a bbq. No gas!
