Ella May Holiday Flats

Location was lovely and the outdoor area of unit 3 was great for our family Christmas. The roast was perfect as the unit had a gas oven - the flat itself it was pretty much as described - an unrenovated holiday flat from the 50s or 60s, so we didn't need to worry about causing wear and tear . Shower had good pressure and bathroom was clean. Double bed was comfortable. Bedrooms and living area were clean and aircon works well. Huge back yard leading to forested area - lovely and good for dogs who don't run away.

There was no fenced area for the dog, so we had to keep ours inside with door shut or take him out on a leash. This is important to know before you go. The flint no longer works for the stove, and the lighter was broken so we couldn't use the stove top when we arrived. This should be fixed. (We had to drive to the servo to buy a lighter). There is no wifi, but we didn't mind that over Christmas. Under the sink kitchen cupboards were very dusty and dirty. - teapot was full of dust and cobwebs. No fly screens on windows meant we had to keep the windows closed.

The key was not in any of the 3 lock boxes - after a number of phone calls we were told it was under the mat by the front door. The grounds were overgrown and untidy. The washing from the beds of the previous guests was hung on the clothes line and remained there for the duration of our stay despite dragging on the ground. Kitchen cupboard door was missing. No power point in the bathroom for hairdryer (not provided). Mismatched bedding gave the unit an unkempt look. Lounge furniture very uncomfortable. No wi-fi but 40 year old CDs provided. Outdoor furniture old, rusted and scattered. BBQ not fit for use. Decking area boards dangerously uneven. No local eateries - all closed by 4pm.
