Views Forever - Devonport

The accommodation is spacious and well kitted out. Everything works. Bed is very comfortable. Lots of seating to relax. We liked the accommodation and location very much.

Our main gripe was not so much the accommodation itself but rather the way the booking is handled when married to all the notices and rules that present themselves when you walk in. The photos show just how many notices have been posted around the room. It would be easy to look past these normally but, unusually, the host takes a $250 deposit on top of the accommodation fee with strict warnings that charges will be imposed if rules are broken. The $250 deposit is not easily noted unless you scrutinise the policies. Our deposit was returned promptly by the way. There are so many notices that its easy to miss an important one like “please turn on fan when cooking”. Its kind of hidden a little behind a kettle and you wouldn’t otherwise know that there was a fan. Combined, the large deposit and the large number of rules and notices make for an uneasy stay. It could be quite daunting for a guest who speaks little english. The host was not present. Its a self entry and departure arrangement which made us a little agitated about the whole deposit arrangement.

The views were spectacular and the accommodation fresh and fabulously clean. Little touches like breakfast were much appreciated

Stunning views, very comfortable bed. Clean and tidy accommodation. Good cooking facilities. Plenty of storage space. Good size TV Nice treats in fridge, (bacon and eggs, milk, orange juice, etc)

Steep driveway with hairpin turn. Owners living overhead. Internet dodgy unless in sunroom. No fly screens in sunroom to keep sandflies out.

Our first day in Tasmania as we arrived via the ferry. This property is so well maintained, comfortable and had all necessary amenities and more. The kitchen was so well stocked and the surprise was they had supplied breakfast items in the fridge. The owners are extremely nice and the views from the property are great. Loved our stay.

The bed didn't have a top sheet! Not sure whether the duvet gets washed after every guest but would recommend having a bottom and top sheet that can easily be washed, feels a bit cleaner rather than not..
