THE TIN SHED Couples accommodation at Bay of Fires

Good location, nice size room and great bathroom. Has a mini fridge, kettle and toaster and bbq. We took some wine a cheese platter down to the rocks for sunset views, and had a pizza one night at the nearby restaurant. Nice walks along waterfront and beach walks

The tin shed is a comfortable well-appointed room however it is not as advertised ‘a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony and terrace … and a fully equipped kitchen’. In fact, the hosts emailed on our arrival day to say ‘Please remember that there is no kitchenette (think hotel room) but there is a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and BBQ’. It is a single room not a one-bed apartment. One of the reasons we booked this accomodation is so we could have a home cooked meal. There was no stove, preparation area, sink, or cloth to wipe down the table, and no cooking equipment. As they said, there isn’t even a kitchenette, let alone the fully equipped kitchen as stated in the description on booking.com. There is also no balcony and the terrace is just a concreted area under the garage/tin shed roofline. The free wifi mostly doesn’t work and when it does it’s so slow there is no point in using it. We didn’t complain as there was no other accomodation available in Binalong Bay. Please adjust the description so others aren’t mislead and disappointed like we were.

See above plus the bathroom was supposedly accessible but unfortunately the shower is not and is dangerous. There is a wall rail to hold onto but the floor fall is very steep and slippery when soapy. There is a wooden duckboard to place across the floor valley but it is small and wobbly. We managed to use the shower okay however my elderly mother would have had no hope at all.

The location was too far out of town with no faclilities. It was just a shed in someones backyard. The driveway was too steep and dangerous. There was nowhere to cook abd no table to eat. The water is unsafe and needs boiling befire drinking. The toilet is a septic tank. There is no view and no privacy as the owners can watch your every move. I felt unsafe staying there do we didnt stay after seeing the property. It makes me wary of using bookinh.com again as it didnt advertise like this on the website. It wasnt until i was about to turn up, that the owner advised me of these conditions.
