Quiet location.

Photos and write up are deceiving. It’s a converted room under the house, definitely not an apartment. No off street parking.

David was a very lovely and attentive host.

Unfortunately this property has reached its expiry date. It is dark and dingy and every furniture and fitting is old and outdated. The double bed sinks in the middle and needs to be replaced. The makeshift lounge and “dining” facilities were an insult - uncomfortable and worn out. 1 dining chair on a tiny round table filled with clutter and 2 bar stools on the grotto style bar with very limited facilities. The bathroom appeared clean until we showered and had to move aside the “hair” blocking the drain. The pool was as per the pictures, however, given its location, our privacy was compromised. Access to “the retreat” is very dangerous and unsafe. Being woken (not that we slept) to the footsteps and sounds of the people above was not at all tranquil. We have NEVER had to leave a negative review in all our 40+ years of travel - sadly this has been a necessity for others and in particular the companies that endorse this property.

The potential of the property is obviously there.

The lack of cleanliness/hygiene. For example: some staining on the fitted sheet, same on the couch covers, hair on shower floor and in bathroom generally, carpets and floors needed vacuuming, the milk in the fridge was unsealed;
