SHWAY - The Pink Pigeon

The location was nice.

This was up 3 VERY STEEP winding stairs to get to the door. Anyone with any issues walking or climbing cannot stay here. Even a small suitcase ( check in size) was difficult to get up. Once up, there were two bedrooms with a toilet and sink room on one side of the hall and the shower on the other. The only other toilet ( no second shower) was up another set of narrow steps to the living area—this is NOT a two bathroom apartment but a bath and a half. There also was no air conditioning which might have been ok but the open windows brought in flies and bees.

The location was great - right in the centre of old town Antwerp. The apartment was cosy and had everything we need for our stay.

The stairs are extremely narrow and were difficult to navigate with luggage. The hosts were friendly and helpful but took quite a while to reply.

Wow the apartment totally exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful, spacious and clean. The location was great, close to Groenplaats and several restaurants and bars. We absolutely loved staying at Pink Pigeon and will definitely be back soon!

The location. Close (walking distance to all the good areas.

We had the top appartement, which was difficult to reach via small stairs. Ok for peolple in good condition but difficult for less fit people as one of our friends who has MS. Next to that, the appartement needs some maintenance as some appliances as the coffeemaker was broken or at least had some problems as did other appliances and for example doorhandles that came off etc.

The location was very good, we could walk wherever we wanted, parking was close by as well. Would recommend it for young travellers.

We did not realize how steep and narrow the stairs were for pensioners who have to carry luggage up three flights of stairs. The fridge worked, but is broken inside. The microwave is broken on the outside, but we managed to open it to use. There was no dishcloth for drying the dishes.

The property was attractive and in a good location, easy to walk into the centre of Antwerp, nice local cafes and shops. However....

...as all three of us are in our '60s with heavy luggage, we would have appreciated prior warning of the amount of narrow steps up to the apartment and indeed between both floors. There were a number of items of feedback I have already given them - small repairs required to door handles, broken fridge, lack of towel in upstairs toilet, deeper cleaning of living space and shower extractor required, etc. And we are still confused as to whether we COULD use the laundry in the basement (more steep steps) - there are photos advertising this on the website but their information folder in the apartment said we had to use one elsewhere. When I messaged about this I did not get a response.

Great location, pickup of the keys was really easy and well organised. Also, the host provided us with helpful info to make the most out of our stay.

The bed for one person are not too spacious for Dutch, tall people :-)
