Charming duplex on the canal Brussels

Nothing. The description was misleading

The apartment was in a scruffy street and up 50 stairs. The outside was filthy and alongside a main road. The entrance hall stank of cigarette smoke and the kitchen had a sour smell. The view from the back overlooked dirty neighbouring terraces and the view from the front overlooked a noisy man road and tram line. We hated the place so much we did not stay the night. Weeds and dog mess outside the front door. Disgraceful misrepresentation saying it is a charming canal side apartment.

The apartment was lovely and we had a very comfortable stay in Brussels. We often have issues when travelling as my son has many allergies (including a dust allergy) and can be easily irritated by his environment, particularly at nighttime. We had no issues at all here as the apartment was spotless upon arrival, the beds were very comfortable and there were fans in both bedrooms. We were pleasantly surprised with what was provided in the apartment. It contained everything you need, much more than is usually provided in our experience- an iron, ironing board, smart TV, fans in each bedroom, washing machine, some toiletries, towels, toilet roll etc. We travelled as a family of 5 with 3 children and we all didn't need to use the sofa bed as the two beds were so generously sized. The host was very polite and helpful. We were particularly appreciative of them allowing us to store our luggage in the building after checking out on our final day. We had an evening flight so we were able to spend the day exploring some more instead of wasting our last day at the airport. We were very grateful they were so accommodating as they didn't need to do that. We found the location great with a short walk to the city centre, and both Metro and tram stops a couple of minutes walk away. The apartment is the top of 3 apartments in the building so there are a fair few steps to get up to reach it which someone with mobility issues may struggle with, but we didn't mind at all and you get great views along the canal from the top floor. We would stay here again if travelling to Brussels and definitely would recommend.

Everything was clean. It’s the perfect apartment for your trip in Brussels. It’s good for 5 or 6 persons. I truly recommend it.
