Not true to listing. The bathroom is not private but is in the hallway. When I called to ask about this i was reassured that no one else would use this hallway during my stay. To my surprise, as I was stepping into the bathroom half naked, the door to corridor was unlocked and I rushed to shut the door as a person walked through the hallway, past my room and up the stairs to another floor. When I inquired what was going on I got no clear response. This other guest came and left several times through my "private" space while I was there. No front desk nor responsible person present. Badly organized system for key retrieval-- took 20 minutes to find. Charges are inconsistent with listing- they ask for CC deposit and not cash. it is a beautiful view but incredibly loud late into the night.

Difficult to reach it, no any sign a lot of stairs up , down , up again No any reception desk persons, u will not meet any one tiny room especially if u r more than one person, no place for ur bags U are alone all the time, at night u will feel being uncomfortable and unsafe,especially, there is no latch in the door from inside, and even if present,u r enforced to open the door to go to bathroom outside No daily cleaning

Everything was brilliant. Admittedly, the entry is a tad strange, but once you’re used to it, there’s no issue. The location is amazing - a 5-minute walk to Central Station. Surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes. The room was warm and very comfortable. Great shower.

Getting to the room is a little contrived almost through a labyrinth but OK when you get used to it. During my stay WiFi access was unusable and there was absolutely no content on the TV. Bathroom and toilet as well as kitchen in a private but separate room across the corridor - not a problem if you could live with that. Bathroom was smelly - probably drains. The majestic location comes with noisy revellers outside until the small hours of the night.

I'm happy to be (one of) the first reviewer(s) :) This is a well managed place with the absolute bestest location in downtown Brussels. The room is nicely furnished and squeaky clean. The linen, the towels and all the fittings are extra quality. The wifi worked perfectly. When I booked it the price was also super value. Secret tip: study the history of the Grand Place before moving in to get an idea what building is what on the square, and why each of these buildings are significant. This will help you enjoy the fairytale location :)

Let me stress it that this is a wonderful accommodation, and the view from the window alone makes up for the small inconveniences. 1) They ask for a EUR 300 deposit. This is fairly unusual these days. I'm a frequent traveler (see my reviews) but this is the first time I was asked for a deposit in recent years. 2) This is the old town of Brussels, a huge pedestrian zone, so your taxi will not take you to the door. Expect a few minutes' walk. Public transportation options, on the other hand, are superb. 3) This is an old building. It's beautifully renovated, completely up to today's standards, but it inherited some bruxellois quirkiness. You will climb stairs up and down in narrow (but well lit) hallways to reach your apartment. Not suitable for the disabled. 4) The pin code for the main gate is 6 digits. Write it down for yourself or you'll be browsing your mails to get the original letter with the instructions. 5) As the description clearly says this is a split apartment. The kitchen and the bathroom are outside your bedroom. They are private, only you have a key to them, but you will have to cross a shared space on your way. Take it or leave it. 6) Some noise. The Grand Place used to be a market place and it is still busy at any given time of the day. There are trucks coming in the morning bringing stuff to the shops and cafés in the square, tourists flooding it all day long, and there are party people around at night. Yet again: your location is very very special, it's probably one of the most picturesque places in the world. It just comes with some noise. (It's far from unbearable, the windows insulate quite well, but it cannot be dead silent.)
