Lovely triplex in the heart of Le Sablon

Location was very peaceful, and is good for walking into the city centre which we enjoy doing. Beds are comfy, and the kitchen has enough equipment for a short casual stay. We were able to check out at noon, and leave our suitcases in the apartment until 3pm.

The host refused to help with problems with the lighting, heating and plumbing. The lounge had no light as both the ceiling lamp and the floor lamp did not work - but despite my repeated email and text requests, the host did not reply to assist us. I changed the bulb for a new one myself but that did not help, so maybe the wiring is faulty. The lounge was extremely cold, and with no response again from the host, I downloaded instructions from the Web for the room thermostat but could not get the the room warm and the radiator thermostat didn't help either - only when we used the oven did that eventually warm the room somewhat. The plumbing was blocked - the bathroom sinks didn't drain and the shower rapidly flooded the bathroom, so we could only have a stand-up wash. The host didn't reply again, so I cleaned the drains of hair and gunk myself but that did not improve things much at all, and maybe the problem is more serious. Looking now at other reviews, it seems like these have been ongoing problems, so we were extremely disappointed that they are not being addressed and that the host ignored our pleas for help - he was quick enough to respond when we asked about keeping the keys on us on the last day, but steadfastly refused to reply at all on any other matter we raised during our stay. As many have commented, the stairs are very old, worn and steep - so we expected that, but they also need some maintenance as the first bedroom landing step is loose making them all the more perilous. If all these maintenance issues were addressed, the apartment would be superb - but as it stands, and with the host's reluctance to doing anything about them, I cannot recommend this apartment.

When using the showing on the 2nd level the water would cover the bathroom floor. The stairs in the property were old and very steep.

The stairs were old steep and worn and you needed to be really careful. There was inadequate lighting which the previous guests had told the owner however there was no one to fix it till after we left The windows in the bedroom only had curtains on one of the two windows.
