"Incredible apartment in a fantastic location but read the T&Cs!"

Apartment is absolutely beautiful, really spacious, nice big bath and view of the street. It has everything you could possibly want and the place was so clean. The location is excellent, very close to the train station so you can visit bruges easily but also not far from the beach. I had the best sleep of my life there. Also really nice big smart tv so you can watch youtube and everything. Honestly the actual apartment was 10/10. They also allowed us to check in early for free as it was my dads birthday which was very kind.

We never read the T&Cs properly so we didnt know about the 300 euro deposit in cash, we just expected it to be like other places where they hold your credit card details. This caused a lot of stress for the owner. At first they said it was fine to just take a photo of the passport, then once the man had left they kept messaging me saying we needed to take out the 300 euro cash to give to him. They also werent happy that we took our dog, but online it was labelled as pet friendly. The man said that i needed to ask first and that now they've removed the pet-friendly label to avoid this confusion. I thought this was a bit mean because they literally had dog food and dog bowls in the appartment so they obviously had dogs before. When i was meant to be enjoying my holiday they kept messaging me - sometimes the same message several times which actually was not a nice experience and borderline harrassment. If it hadnt been for this it would have been an exceptional stay. I will say however that it was our fault for not reading the description carefully and I understand the owner was probably stressed.
