I liked the size of the apartment and the layout. I also liked that there were several options for simple restaurants nearby. The host was friendly, helpful and accommodating and quick to respond to messages.

I had problems managing the air conditioning which was blowing straight onto the bed. There was no blanket in the room so I got sick, and it took several days to recover which affected my experience. I got robbed at gun point about 100 meters from the apartment at 10am on a Saturday morning, so be careful. It was my first visit to Salvador and I did not know that there is a poor neighbourhood not far from the location of the apartment. Some advice or warning in this regard would have helped prevent this. A guide to Salvador or some information about local amenities, areas to visit, etc would have been a great help.
