Apartamento Botafogo Beach

- proximity to Metro station which can take you easily to Copa Cabana & Ipanema beaches - nice view from the room. Have in mind though that Botafogo beach is not really for swimming (boats) - hammock in the living room. - good Airconditioning - good WiFi

- extreme noise from the street. I was sleeping with earplugs and it was still noisy in the morning - old kitchen, old bathroom, old shower, old household appliances. No kitchen knife (had to ask for it and I got an old blunt one), no chopping board, no kettle. Not much place in the kitchen to prepare food. - fairly short bed. Must be ~180cm long. - low isolation from the neighbors, which resulted with a very unpleasant smell in your apartment when they were cooking (thank god it happened only one evening) - I have accidentally stepped on a cockroach in the kitchen.

We stay a couple of nights at the apartment. Luciana is an incredible host, super responsive and extremely pleasant to deal with: we had a problem with the flight and Luciana waited for us until late in the night - that was very much appreciated! the View in the apartment is simply breathtaking, and to wake up with the Sugar Loaf in front of you doesn't really have price! it is a bit noisy, but is clearly indicated on the info - I bought a pair of earplugs and all went well.

The entrance has a latex / black sofa which gives the atmosphere of being into a porn movie - I didn't feel safe in even sitting a second on that (that's the atmosphere around the whole house, actually - there's something wrong in the whole place). I strongly suggest you not to share any personal aspect with the owner, she's not able to balance her role of owner with the everything else, and she's a stubborn layer so she might try her best to ruin your staying - in my experience, we had a small misunderstanding the day before Christmas and she kept texting the whole day of Christmas (even lunch time), than she reacted to me blocking her by writing to Booking that I have been violent with her 😄😄😄 and the day of the check out she arrived with a male friend, saying it was for her safety (I am the foreigner here, and that behaviour from her has made me feel very very unsafe, ruining me a few days). She kept talking about karma and energies but are all bullshit when you behave like this. Being smart means also understanding when to stop. It's a fine position but you can find much better areas (Gávea as the first suggestion) - also, the beach it's the worst position when it comes to Botafogo - it's very smelly, super noisy, not very safe indeed.
