The apartment is in a very old building that does not have air conditioning. It took me an hour for them to register and give me the keys and wristbands. The apartment is located on the sixth floor and the elevators are a real karma: They are very slow, clearly need maintenance as they go up and down without control, or better yet— simply don’t work! it is better to use the stairs, but since it is a building without air conditioning, the heat is unbearable. In the building’s corridors, you will find dead and alive cockroaches… inside the apartment that I stayed at, cockroaches also found. We stayed in this apartment for a few days, and everyday my husband and son where killing roaches. The apartment only has one air conditioner for a room where 5 or 6 people sleep. In the dining room area there is a fan, however, that was not enough to keep us cool. In fact, the owner of the apartment dismissed our opinions and told me that one fan and one AC was enough to freshen up the place. While there was one AC in the dinning room, the cord was cut and thus, unusable. It is unethical to think that her guests can tolerate the Cartagena heat in the same manner that she can. Honestly, an unpleasant experience in this place. I do not recommend it unless youre a fan of roaches and like to cook in the sweltering heat of Cartagena.
