Casa Monarca - Monteverde

Situated walking distance to the centre with good places to eat and shop nearby. Vanessa booked our tour and was very helpful. Find Taco Station on Google maps - hidden jem.

The appointment is not as good as it looks in photos. Seating in living area is uncomfortable as is the second bed. No aircom or even a fan. Biggest draw back is gym opposite which plays fairly loud music from 5.30am to 10.30pm.

Lovely modern apartment, nicely decorated, comfy beds. Well stocked kitchen with 2 ring induction hob, microwave and small oven/ grill, coffee maker and kettle. The kettle was useful to heat water for washing up, like most of the places we stayed in Costa Rica the tap water is the ambient temperature. Washing machine holds 19 kg, and there's a huge tumble dryer. Good shower with lots of hot water . Host Vanessa was lovely and super helpful, she organised a tour for us much cheaper than we could have booked ourselves on line. The property doesn't have any signage, Vanessa will send you a link to Google maps. It is directly opposite the gym. The gym has lots of equipment albeit a bit outdated but they work . Day pass was 3000 colones(2024) There are a couple of restaurants within a few minutes walk . The central town area is about a 10 minute walk on pavements which were lit at night . Great value for money. We travelled by car, the roads to the property are all good . The property is within a few minutes walking distance of the main road.

Coming from the temperate UK, I struggle to sleep in the warmth of Costa Rica, a fan would be a lovely addition. There was some noise from dogs and motorbikes

Perhaps a new frying pan

Location small village and friendly host, washer and dryer very convenient. Kitchen well equipped. Large king bed and queen bed. Great big shower.

More clothing hangers would be nice.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable.

There was nothing not to like, it was great! Only helpful addition would be to have just a couple of very basic staples of salt and pepper and oil for cooking.

Superclean, well equipped for our short stay, close to town center and reserves. Vanessa went the extra mile to help us with organazing all our programs (even before we arrived).
