Apartment Eiger - GRIWA RENT AG

Big room, close to the train station and good view here.

The accommodation is near the station, but you have to drag your suitcase up the stairs to go to the apartment, and the check-in instructions are not convenient. The customer has to go to pick up the key next station and come back to the apartment. By car may be more convenient because it takes only 5 -10 minutes to pick up the key from the next station. However, by train or walking, it takes a long time, and check-out customers also have to return to the next station to return the key. I think it wastes time almost 1 hour to go and back.

Very comfortable, spacious for 5, well equipped, amazing views, good location for transport links.

Very clean and comfortable two-floor chalet apartment located on the upper floor of a shared building (with about 3 other apartments). The apartment ftrs one bedroom on the main floor with a separate bathroom. The main floor also ftrs the kitchen, living room, and small dining area, with doors leading outside onto the large patio. The kitchen had all the essentials in terms of equipment - oven, microwave, large fridge, large freezer, and stovetop with assorted cookware and utensils. The second floor features the two other bedrooms, with a separate bathroom located between, and a utilities closet with both a washer and dryer (very rare, not used by us). The view is directly onto the Swiss Alps (Monch and Eiger) and directly below the apartment is the Grindelwald Terminal, with quick train access to the Grindelwald Bahnhof or the cable cars for the the Eiger Express to the Eiger Glacier and the Grindelwald–Männlichen to Männlichen. The view is beautiful and you stare into the valley with green fields and chalets extending up into the mountains. The Terminal also ftrs a small Coop for grocery essentials. There is one covered parking space provided with the apartment and the rental office also rents a parking space (not covered) at the Griwa Congress Center for 5CHF/day. If you're in two cars, it is easy to drive there, leave a car, and then drive back down. Otherwise, the walk is an incline for about 10 to 15mins. The check-in office is in the center of town, which is close to the central train station (Bahnhof). If arriving by public transport, it will be easy to take a train into the town, grab the keys, and then take the train back only one stop to the Terminal stop, which is directly below the apartment. The check-in staff were very friendly and provided step-by-step instructions on how to get to the apartment and how to park/get into the apartment.

The train station being so close can cause some noise, particularly if you sleep with the windows open. The trains typically end before 11pm, but continue beginning around 5am.
