Presidential Suite Heart of Downtown with Stunning View

The property is located close to the water. If you are attending sports events, it’s walking distance and easily accessible via the Path. The view is great. Two small bedrooms with just enough room for a queen bed and a king in the main.

At first glance it was good, but upon inspection there were some maintenance items that needed to be addressed. The clip for the shower head in the main bathroom was broken and had to use the shower as a handheld. I notified the owner and was told the previous renters broke it and didn’t have time to repair it before we arrived. The door handle in the main looked like it was ready to fall off the door. The exterior door frame of the apartment had tape on the outside and inside the unit, it looked like it was damaged. The kitchen cabinets were filled with open food such as cereal boxes, coffee, sugar and the refrigerator had half filled milk containers, open butter and cheese. It looked like someone is living there and only removed their clothes for our stay. I had to clean the bathrooms as there were pink mildew stain under the family size bathroom products that were left and a very dirty rubber mat inside the main bathtub. The towels in the unit looked liked they were dirty or the darks had been mixed with lights. Fortunately there were cleaning products available and I was able to clean and wash to be sure it was sanitary. I took pictures and contacted the owner. I thought I was renting from a responsible source, booking.com, but so many things went wrong. When I was given instructions for check in the day before arrival and after I could no longer cancel this reservations, I was told i would have to go to an off site market to pick up the keys. After contacting Booking.com, the owner agreed to meet us at the apartment. I spent a good portion of my limited vacation time cleaning, I would have preferred to be able to get a refund and go to a hotel, but Booking.com did not assist.

This is a corner property with spectacular views of the lake and Toronto Islands from one window and the city from the other. You can see the CN tower and the Rogers Centre from the window and the city lit up at night is fabulous. Its location is perfect. 5 mins walk from Union Station which means the UP express from Pearson is so easy to do even with large suitcases. Most things that you want to go and visit are with a 20 minute walk. Having 3 bedrooms it gave our family space, comfort and flexibility to eat in or out.
