Waking up in the morning to a beautiful view. Everything was perfect, we can feel the owner put a lot of energy to make this place so cozy. We had a great time with family.

There is no parking and the public parking payment machine didn't work.

"Pretty area but limited view from the basement apartment"

8.0

Good WiFi, no problem working from the cabin. Cute village, some trails are accessible within walking distance.

We stayed in the basement apartment and unfortunately there isn’t much of a view from it, as the trees cover the lake and pretty much everything else. Also, the apartment is listed as having two bedrooms, but actually one bed is a fold down bed in the living room. The bunk beds have their own door, but it’s basically a closet with only a tiny window towards the hallway. Feels a bit overpriced for what you get.

"Nice location but could be upgraded a little"

7.0

Our apartment was the bottom one of 3 in the building. Ideal for us as we had our dog with us for the holiday, so we could easily take her in the garden. It has a nice area outside to sit where the late afternoon/evening sun reaches and you can enjoy a drink. We also played a few games of cards while we enjoyed the temperature. It was generally quiet during our 10 day stay - with a couple of exceptions. Location in Axalp was quiet, and it is accessible once you've navigated the winding road. In easy reach of great locations, including Grindelwald, Wengen and the trio of famous mountains. The bus service is also available just a few minutes walk from the property, though we used our car from there. Nice, picturesque walks above Axalp. Comfortable bed, but could be positioned better for 2 people to get out of it at night. Most of the essentials were available to enable self-catering.

We arrived too late for the shop - the opening hours weren't in the welcome information supplied before we arrived, which was a minor issue as we have always been given a welcome pack with a small bottle of milk, small bread, butter, etc, ie the bare essentials to ensure we are ok as soon as we arrive. This was our first ever accommodation without such a pack. The noise from the middle apartment above us on 2 of the 10 nights we stayed was very loud. Fortunately, those guests departed quickly but they had no consideration for others in the building while they made noise. Everyone wants a good holiday, but be considerate. Parking, although we were told we had to pay 8CHF per day to park down the road, is again very unusual when we've stayed somewhere. Oddly there were several spaces next to the property that were allocated to others with their car registration plate numbers stated, and yet there was no-one using them. We don't recall any mention of the property being 10km up the mountain, so be aware. This wasn't a problem, but some may prefer to know if they're not familiar with the location. Again, we stayed in June and virtually nothing was open in Axalp - apart from the shop and a restaurant halfway down the mountain. Just something to be aware of in quiet season. The description says there is a view. There are glimpses of views, obscured largely by pine/ash trees and properties, but you can walk to the edge of the garden for a reasonable view. Lighting in the apartment was quite dark. Based on our following stay in an amazing (entire) chalet in Austria, the apartment could be upgraded a little, given the cost of hiring. New photos could be added as they are clearly a few years old.

"Enjoyable stay in a fascinating nature."

8.0

Location was breathtaking. Very clean and the kitchen has everything you need.

The road is about 20 min up the mountain ,very narrow and you need to stop at the side to allow other cars to pass through . It was surprising at first but you get used to it after a few days .

"We had a wonderful stay. We greatly appreciated the excellent facilities and the warm, responsible behavior of the staff"

10.0

We had an incredible stay at your chalet! The location was perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to all the activities we had planned. The facilities were top-notch, providing us with all the comforts we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We were particularly impressed with how well-maintained and clean everything was. Moreover, the staff's behavior was exemplary. They were not only friendly and welcoming but also extremely responsible and attentive to our needs. Their dedication to ensuring we had a great experience did not go unnoticed. Our group of friends had an unforgettable time, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for providing such a wonderful getaway!

The close proximity of the neighboring properties meant that it wasn't as quiet and private as we had hoped for at times.

"Had a memorable experience in Brienz in this beautiful cottage."

9.0

Very cozy clean place in a great location. The hosts were very helpful and constantly checked on us to make sure we were comfortable. The house had balcony, fire place, complete kitchen, a music system, tv etc.

Well since our stay was on the top floor, certain spots in the house had low ceilings. So a tall person might it difficult to navigate at certain times. Also, we underestimated the road to Axalp. It was more challenging to drive than expected. But good part is that there is bus to Axalp from Brienz.
