Emvacamo'

The apartment was clean and the owner lives nextdoor and was very attentive to our needs.

The location is hard to get to after a long day at the beach as it is all uphill and the terrain is a little rough close to the apartment. The TV didn't have a signal.

A complete modern apartment with ice cold air conditioning and a useful kitchenette with all the basic needs. Staff was frinedly and laid back. Close also to a convenient corner market. Just far enough forma the main street that its quiet at night but not a long walk to popular areas. All at a really fair price.

Eh? The water pressure is a bit low on the sink and shower, but it feels petty to complain about it when every other aspect is so Excellent.

My second stay at Emvacamo, only 8 days this time. Adequate kitchen, clean, and comfortable. Air-conditioning (bedroom only) and Netflix. Previous reviews have said that they felt unsafe in that area of Taganga. I didn't feel that. The walk up from the beach area is sometimes tiresome but at 62 I need the exercise 🙂. On that note, Willy's gym is basic but useable. The WiFi dropped out a few times but never for long. No hot water but the tank is on the roof and heated by the sun. Would stay again, no hesitation.

The neighbours often play their music VERY loud. Didn't affect my sleep though as the bedroom is at the back of the apartment. It's the same everywhere in Taganga though. No worries.

Lovely owners. Very helpful always contactable on watsapp. So cheap for what you get!!! Much better choice than hostel as same price and own privacy and bed, great if you are diving

I actually extended my stay here as I found a good little hike (Pica Alta) and a great snorkelling spot (from the left hand side of Playa Grande as you face the sea back to Taganga beach). I also found a bar that showed Premier League football with commentary (in Spanish) rather than reggaton during the game, so I decided to rest up for Christmas. Emvacamo was a good choice. A spacious apartment with an adequately equipped kitchen. There is a previous review that says they felt the area was dangerous. I disagree, I didn't feel that at all. The neighbouring properties played very loud music, often competing with each other on the decimal front, but maybe that was because it was Christmas time. Taganga is a little "rough around the edges" and I liked it a lot. If (when) I return I would stay at Emvacamo' again.

The longish walk uphill from the beach and the D1 supermarket did become a bit monotonous but I think the price reflects that.

The wifi was great here and able to cope with video calls. The kitchen stove worked really well, probably the best stove we have used in Colombia so far. The air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfy so we had good sleeps here. They took our very stinky laundry and did a great job cleaning it for a reasonable price. The place was located a little out of the central area which meant it was nice and quiet, we never felt unsafe walking around either. Overall happy with our stay here.

The bathroom smelt pretty bad which made the whole apartment smell unless the door remained closed. As English speakers with very little Spanish, communication was difficult at times, but the staff were very happy to help and eventually we were able to understand each other.
