Gas never worked

The view is BEAUTIFUL! The apartment is comfortable, but it's really the rest of the building that's impressive. Building staff is kind and helpful.

I woke up to a cockroach in the bedroom on my second morning there. Based on previous reviews, roaches are an ongoing problem in this apartment. The host offered to have someone come clean, but I was recovering from surgery and did not want to be disturbed further. There's a weird process to get your keys where they want you to send your passport and credit card information through What's App. I refused to send my banking information to a stranger online so someone came for me to pay in person. Even the Booking.com site says not to send banking or credit info, so why would I do that? The place is also beat up, with damaged cabinets and doors. There was also no gas or hot water on my first day. Someone had to come and turn it on. Why wasn't the gas and cleaning done before guests arrive?
