Unterkunft sauber und hervorragend ausgestattet, mit einer großen Terrasse, von der man den Klang des Gaisbach hören kann, der direkt dort vorbeifließt. Sehr freundliche Gastgeber.

Breakfast self catering. Location good.

As we didn't have mobile phones we were told by the owner before the trip that we could get the key and leave our luggage at 15.00.When we arrived the cleaner told us to come back 3 hours later because they had to clean the apartment. We returned 1 and half hours later and it was ready and clean.if our flights had been delayed we would have had no way to get in touch with the owner.A pass code or key box would be better. Leg room sitting on the toilet was difficult.We had to push the washing machine forward.

Die Wohnung war, wenn überhaupt , nur notdürftig gereinigt. Müll von Vorgängern noch auf dem Boden und unter den Betten, verschmutztes Geschirr in den Schränken, Pfannen unter Spültisch neben Putzmitteln, Sammelsurium von Geschirr,Duschkabinentüren richtig dreckig unten in den Laufschienen, Terrasse nicht gefegt, unter Auflage von Sessel auf der Terrasse Schimmel , Zigarettenkippen. Mann der uns Schlüssel übergeben hat , hat in der Wohnung gewartet und da auch auf einem Beistellbett geschlafen. Kurtaxe in bar einkassiert, hat keine Personenangaben verlangt, keine Quittung ausgegeben.

Nice balcony, good accommodation in general

Shower head is not adjustable - fine if you are exactly a certain height, but not great. Shower drain hardly draining. Wifi virtually absent. 1 bar at most. Not usable for streaming / youtube. We mostly used 5G.

It is within easy walking distance to the centre of Bad Herrenalb & lots of great hiking/ walking trips near by. Parking is right outside the property. The flat has a balcony which gets sun in the morning, a large flat screen tv, free WIFI, a fairly recently renovated bathroom and all amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. There are two single beds with very comfortable mattresses and very snuggly bedding :). I wouldn’t call it “Deluxe”but it is “Klein aber fein”.

A small outdoor balcony seating arrangement for two would be great for breakfast in the morning sun. There is only one rather uncomfortable indoor dining chair outside. I was there by myself and it was “ok” to sit a moment on the balcony,but not suitable for two. The decor could do with a bit of an update, new (less busy on the eye) curtains and more modern rugs for example to fit the rest of the tiny flat’s interior. The dining table is a bit wobbly & needs a small adjustment. Ikea provides great budget friendly options these days.. I am an interior decorator (can’t help it… ^^) But overall a pleasant experience.

The host were very kind. The location is a good starting point for hiking, the very reason we were there :-) We had an issue in the check-in (read cons) and had to switch apartments in the last day of our stay. So, our first apartment was small and basic, still comfortable. The second one (the one we actually booked) was wonderful! I could live there! If you want to cook there and need groceries etc, make sure to pass by in one of the neighbouring towns, because this town is pretty small.

As said in the 'pros', we were given another apartment upon arrival. I didn't think the difference between apartments would be so considerable, so I just accepted it without issues. On the last day, someone need to check-in to current apartment and we were asked to move to the one we actually booked. That's when we saw the difference. This apartment was much better! We felt like we missed out on the first days. Especially because that long weekend rained a lot and we had to spend most of our time in the apartment. NEVERTHELESS, we still trust it was an honest mistake in the booking system. The hosts were truthful and kind. I would stay there again (but make sure I get the right apartment this time around :-)
