Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, ist größer, als ich von den Bildern her dachte, das Bett ist super. Die Lage ist optimal, direkt an der Zitadelle, in der schönen Altstadt, mit vielen Lokalen und Geschäften. Nachts war es erstaunlich ruhig. Wir waren dankbar für den Ventilator, da wir an den beiden heißesten Tagen in Mainz waren. Unkompliziert und nett der Kontakt zu den Vermietern, es gibt eine Schlüsselbox. Für ein paar Tage in Mainz eine gute Option.

Der sehr kleine Wasserkocher, wenn man Teetrinker ist, ist etwas umständlich , aber eher kein echtes Problem.

Hot shower, good water pressure, hairdryer & magnifying mirror - great bed, fabulous bedding & the PILLOW!! What more could we want! Perfect location. Pretty quiet& very walkable to all we needed to experience for these few days.

The appartment is a good value for money. The kitchen has everything you might need for a short or even longer stay and the bathroom was spacious and clean.

The windows are not sound proof, so from time to time it can be noisy. However, during my stay it was not a big issue. The towels, although clean, were a bit smelly.

This apartment is unusual in a very standardised world, located as it is in a historical building in the Old City, but on a very quiet street (there is a main road close by but this wasn't a problem). It's quirky, comfy and greets you every time you come 'home' with the scent of old wood. The apartment is located close to the 'funkier' end of Augustinerstrasse, full of bars and restaurants. The Rhine bank is just five minutes beyond this, where the laid-back 'Mole' beer garden has the best river views in Mainz. Good supermarket within 100 metres (Tegut), wonderful City Park just a few minutes away, beyond the local Römisches Theater rail station, which you should use instead of the HBF. A couple of things to note (none of which were problems for us at all): if you eat in, you eat where you sleep (or almost), there is no washing machine and the shower is in the bath tub (just in case you have mobility problems). But I have to stress that this is an beautiful old building and your bedroom contains century-old beams and bearing walls: in my book, charm outscores all the mod cons any day of the week!
