Altstadtwohnung

Eine große sehr schöne, individuell und gemütlich eingerichtete Wohnung mit großer Terrasse und allem, was man braucht. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Es gab eine Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor dem Haus und in die Innenstadt mit Restaurants und Geschäften läuft man nur wenige Minuten. Zum Bäcker ebenfalls ca 5 Minuten. Wir waren leider nur für eine Nacht da, aber man kann dort problemlos einen ganzen Urlaub verbringen. Ganz klare Empfehlung!

Everything was good.

This self-catering apartment, booked through Booking.com, had everything we could wish for. The phots shown on Booking.com's website are a true representation of the facilities in the apartment at no. 23. It is within a 5 min walk from the bus and train station, 10 mins from Holzmarkt, an excellent supermarket that has everything, including a very nice cafe with all usual cakes, rolls and savouries as you would expect from a German eatery. A 25 min walk takes you into Verden an Aller with its shopping precinct, there Is the Dom, a cathedral type church, and you can even have breakfast on a cruise up the river. This apartment is much more than just a holiday-let, judging by it's furnishings it's more like someones home, someone with impeccable tastes perhaps and with a musical background, there is even an a very expensive looking electronic piano. Pity we can't play.

In our opinion there was nothing to dislike about the apartment during our stay at no. 23 in June 2023. The only thing that maybe a problem to someone not so able, would be the winding staircase to the flat, it has 20 or so steps and so could be something to consider perhaps. In the event of very hot weather there is no air con, although we found the flat kept quite cool in the time we were there in June '23

This was one of my favorite stays in a long time. The hosts were very nice. They let us wash some clothes, and as cycle tourists it was very necessary. :) Our bicycles were allowed to be parked safely in a locked bicycle shed. We were welcomed personally with bottled water and cookies. It was a very short walk to downtown and the grocery store was right around the corner. The apartment was absolutely spotless and decorated tastefully. The kitchen had very high-quality appliances, chef‘s knives, cutlery, and dishes. It was all we needed to prepare a delicious dinner. The sheets were top-shelf cotton, as were the towels. The bed and pillows were just right, and we slept like the dead. There were windows on three sides of the apartment, so there was a great cross breeze at night when it was 1,000 degrees outside.

There wasn‘t a single thing to complain about!
