Historisches Haus im Herzen von Monschau

Locatie pal in het centrum, huisje was groot genoeg, wij waren er met 4 gezinsleden en 2 honden, wel een vrij gevaarlijke trap om naar de voordeur te gaan.

Kussens vielen tegen maar dat is natuurlijk persoonlijk.

Location is great. Apartment is very comfortable.

A lighter duvet option would have been nice.

Many stairs can be a problem

Wonderful location, historic with lots of space. It had everything you needed. Also great I could stay there with my two small dogs.

The stairs are challenging. It is a historic house so the stairs are very challenging. If you have mobility issues, this is probably not the place for you.

The location was perfect! Beautiful apartment, right on the river, overlooking street cafés and shops. The beds were comfortable. The heaters were easy to use and efficient. There were books and DVDs. If you are looking to experience a piece of history you will love this place!

We found it difficult to open the internal door at first, as lock mechanism needed to be turned clockwise until two clicks and then held to release latch. Low beams and steep stairs could be a problem for some guests.

Location is perfect. Collecting and returning the keys was very easy. Everything we needed was present. The apartment is across a square which makes it a photo opportunity for everyone that comes along. Bakery is a 2 minute walk away.

The shower/bath had mold, the coffee thermos was dirty (due to coffee residue or it was used without a coffee filter).

German pillows are brutal. Cant really blame the host for that. She was AMAZING. Place was adorable.

Our host Inga was excellently kind and very informative. I think there's a couple of options to book in the building but we opt for the 2 bedroom (duplex) "Strauss" apartment, which we highly recommend. Although it's a very old building, probably from the 1600's, the apartment was brilliantly renovated. There were no strange smells at all and no internal or external noises because the building is very well insulated. The river flows under its windows and still couldn't hear it at all. This apartment has a wood burning stove that will keep it worm the entire day with just a couple of logs. Parking in this town will cost you €2,00/h from 10:00 to 19:00 (7/7) but if we show our booking details in the tourism office it will only cost you €3,00 per day. The tourism office is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00. To summarize, i can say that staying in this apartment will make the experience of visiting this magical town, a lot more authentic. We'll surely return.

The stairs (there are only 10, or so) can be very tricky. Be careful and make sure to grab the handrail (up or down).

keys were on the locker and I got the code from Inga day before so the checkin was smooth and quick
