Gästehaus Ehringhausen 63 (Anno 1719)

The owner responded quickly to the questions I had. The apartment is located in the attic of a monumental house. The apartment has a cozy appearance and is equipped with many amenities. Naturally for a German accommodation, it is spotlessly clean. There is ample parking in front of the door and the city is easily accessible. The major cities are within easy reach and yet the area has plenty of nature and sights to see.

The apartment ("Carl", in the attic) has a lot of potential, but not enough has been realized. There are matters that are not properly arranged. A few examples: I had to ask for the code to get the key of the apartment. The owner could easily have provided me with the code before. The safety of the entrance (steep stairs and awkward transition to the front door of the apartment) is downright dangerous. The double bed consists of a box spring with a mattress cover that is too small. There should be a real mattress on it and a suitable cover. The cushions are much too thin. The bed is therefore downright hard and uncomfortable. The (small) room has a double sofa, two armchairs and a stool as a coffee table. Why 4 seats for an apartment intended for only 2 people? Then you'd rather exchange the armchairs for a decent coffee table. The shower in the bath is placed against a sloping wall. So you take a shower crouching down or with an arched back. Why? On the other side of the bathroom there was plenty of room for a bath and a stand up shower! The screen that should stop the splash water consists of a roller blind (ingenious!), but it is placed outside the bath thus allowing the splash water to run outside the bath. Why? Also, emptying the garbage bag of the previous guests was apparently forgotten. A lot of this sloppiness could have been avoided easily. This attic apartment has a lot of potential, but more effort will be needed to make this attic a real nice place to stay.

Free and plenty parking

Big apartment with fully equipped kitchen. You'll find everything you need. Everything is clean. You even get dishwasher tablets and coffee pads included in the stay. All of that at a very low price. You won't find this anywhere else! Highly recommend#

The apartment works with a code system to get your key which is totally fine. However upon arrival, the ushers hadn't sent the code yet. Had to contact them and had to wait 20 mins before getting the code. Apartments parking and Sofie are directly at the main entrance and easy to find. Apartment Karl however has no name card and needs to be found all at the top. On the second floor lives a family which is totally fine, but they leave their shoes in the middle of the floor scattered all over making you feel you're in someone else's living room.

Very kind host. Very nice location. Kitchen very well equipped.

The shower was very uncomfortable. It was imposible to take a shower for a person taller than 155 cm and there were problems with the water temperature regulation: extremely hot or cold.
