Huset var välutrustat, och samhället var litet och lugnt. Nära till närmsta mataffär. Mycket trevlig värd som gärna bytte ett par ord när vi sprang på varandra, men lät oss vara ostörda i övrigt. Under vår vistelse stött vi inte på någon otrevlig person. Alla var tålmodiga med vår bristande tyska, men med hjälp av en översättningsapp så kunde vi prata med de flesta vi behövde. Vår värd pratade däremot en del engelska, så det var mycket lätt att prata med honom.

Vägarna var lite dåliga, men vi är också en bit utanför Hamburg. Trafiken var också svår ibland. Detta är något som måste tas med i planeringen om man åker hit.

Short but great stay! Nice, quiet neighborhood, lovely garden area to relax. Within short distance to train station and Edeka grocery market. Kind and helpful host. Would be happy to return for a longer stay. Highly recommended. Thank you Jan.

Good communication with the host - all relevant info sent beforehand which was very helpful. The big (approx. 100 m2) apartment is located on the ground floor in a private residence in a residential area of Brande-Hörnerkirchen. It consists of: entrance hall, a separate toilet, a kitchen, a huge living room with an extra bed behind a room divider, a bedroom with a single bed, a bath with shower and bathtub and a second bedroom with double bed. At the end of the longish hallway there is a locked, private room and a laundry room with washing machine and drying facilities. There is at least one terrace but the bad weather prevented us from using it. Furnishing is a mix of old and new with some personal touches. Kitchen is well-equipped. Towels and linens were being provided. Free parking in front of the apartment. Supermarket (EDEKA) just up the road.

Unfortunately we arrived rather late and it was a very cold night, with temperatures down to almost 0 degrees - so, with the apartment not being lived-in all the time and the heating, according to the host, only turned on that day, and then one of the radiators (kitchen) not working ... it was very, very cold in the apartment despite the central heating running and us turning up the adjustable radiator valves. It was so cold, that we looked into alternative accommodation the very next morning. Thankfully the host came by and fixed the radiator right away and also extended and turned up the heating times/temperatures significantly which improved things so much so that we decided to stay but it took a few days until the whole apartment felt comfortable. Cleanliness could definitely be improved - lots of spiderwebs in the corners. Usage of the washing machine would have cost extra.

2. Was the accommodation easy to find? Yes/ No. the host had to lead us here as there’s roadworks on the road outside the property. The host made it easier for us to find the place though so t wasn’t an issue! 3. Was the place well connected to the route/main roads? Yes/ No as stated previously the road outside is partially closed but you could still access the driveway.  4. Was the reception at the accommodation friendly Yes. 5. Did the landlord/-lady speak any English?  Yes. 6. Was the accommodation clean & tidy? Yes, very! 7. Was the accommodation well equipped?   Yes it had everything you could need! 8. Was the accommodation modern or old fashioned? Mixed. 9. Was the accommodation connected to landline telephone and/or internet?  It has WiFi!! 10. Did the location have good mobile signal. Yes! 11. Was the location close to any food places? It has a great kitchen and an Edeka 6 mins walk away. 12. Any other remarks? Really good place to stay!! Lots of space!
